Just what my husband wanted for hisNew toy. He said the size was great for his project and the quality was superb. The speed and stick was of his weld was great . Overall great value for the money.

These are great Welding sticks for the price. I ordered 2 sizes (pictured) this review is for the 1/8th size. Seems to work flawlessly, happy with the purchase.

Hobart makes commercial welders so I figured their welding rods are the best, so I order them, and yes they are smooth and great, I chose the 1/8” because of the thin metal that I was welding, but it worked great too. It’s been a long time since I welded but these did a great job for me.

These make strong, tiny tacks that are easy to weld over. Also good for weld with poor fit up when you want to get into a deep gap. Slag is fairly easy to remove, and it welded over some rust that I couldn’t reach to grind clean. Easy to strike, arc is pretty violent and you don’t lose the arc if you let it get too long. Didn’t see an amperage range on the package. I used an indicated 40 amps on my cheap inverter welder and it ran on the hot side

What can I say it’s a welding rod no problem accept setting my amps on my welder that’s my fault : all good:

I have 4-8 hours welding experience, use a cheapo buzz box with only a high low setting, and have no theoretical education what so ever, BUT SURE! I'LL REVIEW THIS ELECTRODE!I find the 6011s much harder to run when compared to the 6013s of the same size. The entire electrode heats up very easily, and very rapidly, perhaps changing the flux chemically, making the rod practically useless. I was tempted into buying the much smaller diameter and lower amperage rating, because I thought it would be easier overhead with my machine, which was only capable of low setting of 50 amps. These rod should PROBABLY be run even lower, maybe even into the 30 amp range. The sticks themselves, are consistent, and I can't fault the product... again, 4-8 hours of lifetime welding experience... If you're a hobbyist, don't just go for the smallest rod thinking you'll have better control, or won't blow through your material, select the right rod for your settings if you're locked into them. This concludes my wasting of your time because Amazon asked me to.

6011 is a great all-around rod. Blasts through paint, rust, and dirt(to a point). Great for out in the weather where a gas shielded welding process isn't an option. With proper technique, both relatively thick and thin metal can be welded effectively, especially if you can run downhill on thin metal. 6010 will do all of this, but 6011 will run on AC and on inverter machines that frequently will not run 6010. 6011 truly is a great all-around rod. These 1/16" rods do all of the above, they're just optimized for thinner material. Also great for running on smaller limited amperage machines, or where a standard 120v plug in is all that's available, or on limited generator power. You wouldn't want to make serious structural repairs with this rod, but sometimes you're in a jam and all you need is to get a quick repair done so that work can continue until the end of the shift. Being able to carry a tiny 120v lunchbox inverter welder on site, plug it into whatever power outlet is available, and make that repair quickly and easily can be worth a whole lot. Every facility maintenance tech should have a box of these around.

Decent quality for thin (1/16) 6011. Worked better than HF version. Starts ok (but not easy, at least for me). Restarts were decent. Burns fast, though. Good for sheet metal without blowing holes if not moving fast enough, giving you a bit more time to work it in (used to weld 2-pc 5/8" diameter solid pin hinges to 14 ga square tube posts for metal gate repair), where I figured 6013 or 7014 wouldn't penetrate deep enough. If you get the amperage dialed down (50A +/- 5A or so), it will still penetrate well and also produce a nice rippled bead with not too much splatter. For what I needed, using a 110V low amperage stick welder, it worked well. Lincoln FW 180 3/32", from HD, was just too much for my project.
