I needed something that I could dig a narrow 10" deep trench to install my new lawn sprinkler piping in our Florida sandy soil. This did the trick. The metal welded head is very solid. For the people that complained about the handle sections coming loose, just add some good adhesive sealant to make it a permanent fix. The other option would be to buy a good ash wood handle for a replacement handle, but that will add some weight. So far, the lightweight metal one is working just fine.

Worth every penny. You can move a lot of dirt very quickly with this hoe. Sturdy and well constructed, overall quality tool. The only downside is the screw in connection pieces tend to come loss with use but I believe some silicon tape will help with that. Definitely would recommend this purchase!

I needed something in case I saw another snake in my house! I wanted something that would stand up and complete the task if I ever needed help again. Just the way it is made gives that ability. Perfect!!!

I live in sunny Texas, where weeds grow tall and strong in the blink of an eye, and a very windy city where weed seeds blow into my garden constantly! I tried the expensive standup weeder, and it was as if the weeds were mocking the tool's strength, it is a weak tool for my needs- so on to this tool. With this tool, I used it as a hand tool (I used only one extension rod) and was able to get out some horrible Johnson grass, crab grass, and couch grass that were choking some of my baby fruit trees. It did the job very well. A common hoe was not the right tool, as it is not strong enough, and a shovel would've damaged the tree's roots. So, this pointed hoe avoided damaging the tree's roots and was able to ply the thick weed roots from the soil. I also use the rest of the rod extensions altogether when turning this hoe onto it's side and using the sharp edge to hoe medium to small garden weeds. It's really great- especially for the price! My only suggestion would be to increase the amount of threading on the rod extensions. As I mentioned, I love using this hoe as both a hand tool and a long tool, but I noticed that when I use it as a long tool I have to stop every 10 min to tighten the 1st rod to the rest of the long extension rod. But, this is minor, and I can always use a 2 second break to re-tighten the rod.

Lightweight, durable, works very well . I love the fact you can remove or add lengths as needed. I used plumbers tape when screwing the lengths together for a tighter fit since some people had commented that the lengths came unscrewed after using it for awhile. I’ve had no problem with mine.

Even after tightening the handle, it keeps coming loose when in use.
