Your cart is empty.A C-Wire Adapter is needed when installing a Honeywell Home Smart Thermostat and a common wire or C-Wire (24 volts) is not present. The C-Wire Adapter makes Honeywell Home smart thermostats compatible with most homes that don’t have a common wire. All Honeywell Home Smart Thermostats require 24 volts power (C-Wire). Some homes may have an unused C-wire sometimes tugged behind the wall where thermostat is installed.

I needed this adapter because our old thermostat used batteries, so no C wire. Thinking about have to mess with the wiring in the furnace was a bit daunting. But it turned out to be pretty darn easy and everything worked out well. We now have a fancy, smart thermostat! And we didn't need to call a furnace guy. Yay!

When I went to install this the first time I was quickly overwhelmed by the instructions. There didn’t seem to be a clear guide for connecting the wires to the correct terminals.Once I figured it out it was super quick to install. I woul recommend if you need an adapter for your smart thermostat.

If you have two separate heating and cooling systems connected to your existing thermostat and you wish to install a WiFi thermostat that needs a C wire to power the thermostat, and you don't have a C wire at your thermostat, this device can be wired to solve that.The R wire is the power from your heating system and has an independent transformer to operate. The Rc is the power from your air handler and you will need a C wire from your air handler to power a WiFi thermostat. WiFi thermostats use too much power to operate off batteries. This device is meant to be connected to your air handler control panel and the thermostat. If you can't access the control panel of your air handler, the device is not usable.It took me 3 times calling Honeywell and all three people were well intentioned but, I was given information that proved to be inaccurate. Details matter and communicating about a technical issue can be challenging. I hope this helps!

It works perfectly with the honeywell T5 smart thermostat. I recently had a new gas pack installed and wanted a smart thermostat to help increase efficiency. The HVAC pro installed it for me so I can't speak for ease of installation but it didn't take but just 15 minutes to install the adapter and thermostat. So far the unit works as it should with the adapter and thermostat. The thermostat connected to wifi without any problems and without the trouble and cost of installing a C wire. I would recommend. I can't speak for compatibility with other thermostats as the honeywell T5 is the only one I have tried.

The instructions stated to connect the wires to the adapter. Turns out that’s impossible when they soldered the connectors on backwards from the factory. Hopefully the replacement they send out doesn’t share the same issue.Edit: Replacement part arrived 2 days later and was built correct

I used a bunch of these to eliminate the need for a C wire for Honeywell 9600 thermostats. 20 years ago when our HVAC installers ran a line, they didn't run one with a C wire. This converter practically gives you one additional wire and with the C wire you have on the thermostat side, you can now use smart thermostats.
