The pen is very cute. Nib needed just a little bit of smoothing, but now it’s buttery smooth. 4 stars because there was glue on the section, which was a bit sloppy of the manufacturer.

I expected a little more from the pen. It's just OK. There are nicer chinese pens out there for a similar price, with nicer nibs and better filling systems.

This is a very nice pen. It writes smoothly, it feels nice in my hand and it looks nice. The muted colours are really pretty and the pattern reminds me of a cable knit sweater. I've already bought another one in a different colour. It is a good value.

They’re so lovely and feel nice when writing albeit a bit heavy. They are metal which is nice. They write wonderfully. The only issue I have is at only 2 months old the paint is chipping off. I treat them quite kindly so no reason for chipping paint.

The pen writes fairly nicely, is cute, and feels nice in the hand. However the one I sent was defective and cap doesn’t snap closed making it completely non-portable, especially for a fountain pen. Disappointing.

The pen comes in a metal box that is perfect for gifting. It includes a converter, and looks like it could also use standard ink cartridges (though I didn't try one). It has a click-close lid that posts and creates a nice weight in the hand. The nib is a butter-smooth iridium nib (I chose the fine nib), that writes clearly and smoothly, while still allowing for shading to show with shading inks. It seems like a very nice pen for the price and could easily become an every day carry for my school work. The pen makes a nice gift for someone else, or even for yourself!

The Hongdian 1862 Jasmine Green fountain pen part of the Four Seasons Tea Series is a beautiful and affordable pen that is perfect for everyday use. It is made from high-quality materials and features a smooth, extra-fine nib that writes beautifully. The pen is slim and lightweight, making it comfortable to hold for long periods of time. The cap has a snap-on closure that is secure and the barrel posts securely to extend the length of the pen.The Jasmine Green color is stunning, with a bark-like texture that is both elegant and stylish. The cap is white with a silver tree finial design, and the clip is a solid spring-hinged and secure. The extra-fine nib is smooth and writes with a consistent line. It is perfect for taking notes, writing letters, and detailed drawings. The EF nib is ideal for detailed calculations and numbering and tiny writing. The pen also comes with a converter, so you can use bottled ink.Overall, the Hongdian 1862 Jasmine Green fountain pen is an excellent value. It is well-made, writes beautifully, and looks great with all the right touches. The look and feel of this pen is nice in the hand, pocket, or purse.. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a new fountain pen.

I have several Hongdian pens, and they've all been good, solid writers and nice looking; this one is no different. I bought the green version of this pen, and it look very nice... exactly as pictured. It's an all-metal pen, so it has a good solid feel, and the chunky clip is actually hinged at the top with a spring, so it's not as stiff as it looks like it might be. I love the floral pattern in the top finial; very classy. If you like to post the cap on your pen as you write, this one fits deeply and securely, so the balance is good. This is a small, thin pen. The nib is about the size of a #5 nib, and the rest of the pen matches, so it's probably best suited to small or slender hands... or at least, those who prefer a lighter pen. I've attached a photo of this pen and a similarly sized Hongdian next to a Jinhao 100 with a standard #6 sized nib, for comparison. It would also be a good travel pen, if you have a pen loop on a notebook. It's compact. At it's narrowest point, the grip is 8.5mm. The grip, incidentally, is white painted metal, and while it might show stains from ink, it's very comfortable in the hand.I got a fine nib on my pen, and to me it feels finer than most of my other fine pens... but I do tend to write with broad nibs most of the time, so perhaps that's just my own bias. Regardless, it's a wonderfully smooth writing nib with good flow. All in all, a great pen if you don't mind something that is compact.

The pen arrived in a small metal case which was a nice touch that I wasn't expecting. It was a bit thinner than I prefer but seems to be well made. The metal construction of the cap and the barrel give it a nice weight and it feels good in my hand. When I unscrewed the barrel to get to the included converted, I noticed that they had included an o-ring at the bottom of the grip section threads. The compression of this o-ring helps keep the barrel secure while in use. That is also a nice touch for a pen at this price. I like the fact that it has a snap cap rather than one that screws on. This makes for a very small step down from the barrel to the section and allows me to comfortably hold the pen high up on the section without feeling threads for a threaded cap. The nib is very smooth as is typical of Hongdian nibs that I have tried. Another pleasant surprise was that the clip was spring-hinged where in connects to the cap. This makes the clip very usable although I was not able to operate it with one hand like I can with another Chinese pen that I have. Overall, I would recommend this pen. Its metal construction gives it a very sold feel but the small size keeps the pen from feeling too heavy and it writes very well.

This pen has the perfect extra fine nib. Recently got into fountain pens and I typically prefer fine point pens. Well look no further this is it.Thankfully I didn't have to spend so much, as this is my third pen. The second one was same brand, hong dian 920. They make beautiful pens however I'm sticking with this 1862.The convertor pulls in the ink very smooth where other pens you'd have to retry many times to fill it up to the top.As you can see the direction of the nib dictates how fine your writing is both smooth flow of ink. If this wasn't the case I'd keep em all. It feels durable, light, comfortable to write with, runs smooth, and looks elegant
