If you don't have a back up indicator in your vehicle this is the best way to fix that problem. Easy to install and it works fantastic, i highly recommend purchasing one of them if your vehicle doesn't come with one factory installed.

Arrived quickly and was as described. A pretty good value. The installation is relatively straightforward and the instructions, while minimal, are easy to follow. If you are comfortable with basic hand tools, installation should take no more than an hour and a half. I used a cordless electric drill, a punch and hammer, several drill bits, screw driver and wire cutters/strippers. Before drilling any holes in your car's body be sure to carefully examine your intended target to make sure nothing is in the way like wiring, brackets, supports, etc. I measured several times before starting holes. Do use a punch to get a clean start with your drill and drill several progressively larger holes rather than trying to drill a 7/16" hole on the first pass.Once everything was installed and tested use heat shrink tubing to protect the wire where it goes through the grommet and wrap the connector with electrical tape or heat shrink tubing. You should test all the electrical connections and operation before finalizing routing the wires. It operates as described. I did not need to adjust the sensors, though there are five positions depending on vehicle height and angle of the license plate. The default worked fine on my Chrysler 300. The "beeper" has an adjustable volume and is loud enough to be heard if mounted inside the trunk. The alarm starts beeping at about five feet and the tone increases in frequency as you approach an object becoming steady at less than one foot. It does react to a person passing behind your vehicle. While not as quick reacting as a factory installed system it does the job.The only thing preventing a five star rating is the lack of a test/startup beep. It would be nice if the unit beeped once when shifting into reverse so you'd know it was operational. Only had it for about a week so I can't comment on durability. We'll see after a Colorado winter.***Durability Update. Starting third winter of use and still works perfectly. I live in the Colorado Rockies so we have winter from October to May and it has worked flawlessly. Upgrade to four and one half stars because there is no test/startup beep. Highly recommended.

I got this product for my new car, as it was the only backup sensor I could find that does not require the car body modification.I was pleased to find that the packaging includes 2 wire splicers that I was going to purchase separately, as well as a rubber gasket in case you do need to drill a hole in the trunk to pass the power wire through.Installation was easy - I passed the power wire through the license plate light fixture without any drilling. License plate fits the frame nice and tight. The included long screws (made of stainless steel so there are no rusty steaks on the license plate - a nice touch) were handy to attach the license plate due to increased distance because of the sensor frame. Notice that some cars use different screws for the plate mount - you may need to buy matching longer screws. The sensor is quite sensitive - I back into a shrub area, and the sensor picks up reflection from the shrub branches - very impressive. The buzzer has two settings for the volume - one is adequate for a minivan or SUV installation inside the cabin, and the second is loud enough if you install it inside a sedan trunk - in fact, it is loud enough for people outside to hear it as an extra indication that a car backs up. The two sensors can be tilted independently up and down (no tilting horizontally) - allowing for a custom sense area tailoring.Since the installation there were several heavy rain storms, and the sensor works as before (all the electronics is inside the frame) - so it has an adequate weather protection. After my purchase of the sensor two of my friends got the same product, and so far they are happy with it as well. One feature of the product - it has a slight delay registering an obstacle - this means that car needs to back up relatively slow to allow the sensor to react.Update: after 2.5 years of operation, the sensor assembly still works great, I am very happy with its functionality. The only minor issue is that sensor side screws (keeping the sensor tilted) rusted out - ideally they should be made of stainless steel. I would recommend placing a dab of black enamel over the screws after the sensors are tilted in a desired position.
