I had trouble keeping my spa water clean and clear even checking it every other day. Now that the frog is on duty I only check every 3 days and the water looks great. They don't last as long as indicated. I get almost 3 weeks on the lowest setting - #1 for 308 gallon spa. I also learned that when the ball gets low to separate each half to get the remaining chemical to dissolve. Just let the halves float around - i get about another 3-4 days by doing this. It's also great when you go on vacation - keeps water clean and clear.

I have been using the frog spa system for years. It is a bit more expensive than dumping chemicals in yourself, however that's the point it 's way easier and no more measuring. Once the ball flips over its time to replace its that easy. I have noticed if you use the tub quite a bit and have multiple users, and shock every two weeks helps on top of using this system is a good balance for keeping the water crystal clean and the tub smelling fresh. One big thing I do is spray out the filters every 3-4 weeks form their build up on gunk. This helps a lot as well!!!
