For my application this product works well. I have raised bed gardens and this works perfectly for turning over the soil. Bed preparation is now a lot easier.

I have used a variety of rototillers over the years from small 3hp gas engine walk behind tillers to 5-foot wide tractor implement tillers so I figured that I could quickly determine how effective this small corded Electric Rototiller actually would be on a real project. I have to say that I am very impressed by this small electric tiller. It needs only minimal assembly as the motor/tiller assembly comes complete already and you only need to install the 2 handle sections and the control unit. I had the tiller up and running in less than 10 minutes, including opening and removing everything from the box. The tiller is quite light and therefore easy to carry yet it has enough weight to help it stay on the ground while tilling soil (although it might get bouncy on very hard soil). Having an electric motor makes it such that the tiller runs very quietly, especially compared to your typical gas powered rototillers. No hearing protection necessary. The first project that I used this tiller for was to tear up all the weeds and grass growing underneath one of my young trees so that I could lay down a layer of weed barrier fabric, add a border, then add a layer of mulch in an effort to help this tree grow better by retaining more water for itself. I tilled a 3-1/2 foot square area under the tree which only took about 5 minutes with dry ground. Had the ground been wet I suspect that tilling time would have been cut in half. Of course being a corded electric rototiller the user must always be aware of the power cord to make sure that it does not get caught up in (and potentially cut by) the tiller blades. For small projects where a small lightweight tiller is an appropriate choice (as long as you have 120v power near by), this is a product worth considering.

The assembly was straightforward, its lightweight and it’s easy to maneuver in my small flower bed. One of the downsides is managing the cord, you must make sure the cord stays out of the way of the blades when in use. It’s not as powerful as some of the higher amp machine however given its small size and 6-amp motor, it took a while however I still accomplished making a flower bed.

I originally got this because I removed an old gigantic play structure/swingset and also a trampoline from my backyard and the grass has been dead underneath each of them for quite a long time. I wanted to till up the ground to make it loose in order to plant grass seed and have the rest of the lawn fill in. The idea looked good on paper but living in North Texas with the hot summers makes the ground incredibly hard so this little tiller struggled, bouncing a lot. To remedy the situation, I watered both small areas heavily and waited about a day and was then able to penetrate the ground with this tiller. All in all it worked fairly well for my needs. This would be an ideal unit for existing flowerbeds or areas where the ground isn’t quite so hard, like mine. I found it easy to assemble and had no problem with working while attached with an extension cord. I’ve had to rent tillers before and this little unit will be worth the money overtime not having to rent something else. If I had to do a huge job like planting sod on an entire lawn, I would definitely go with a more heavy duty unit with wheels. But like I said, for smaller jobs like gardens, this one is good enough.

The electric tiller has four durable teeth that turn the soil faster. Using the electric tiller can easily make the soil in your vegetable garden and garden softer, without the trouble and fatigue of loosening the soil during the spring planting season.

I was excited when this came, and ready to try it out. The instructions are terrible. Seriously, these make Ikea instructions look good. The assembly instructions are basically an parts list. After this was assembled, I tried it out. After about 30 seconds, and without contacting anything but the grass, one of the blades came off. These are held on by roller pins, and I guess the one wasn't inserted completely or was missed entirely. After finding a bold in my stash that would work, I attempted to use this. After about 5 minutes, the unit died completely. It barely broke the surface of the soft ground before it gave up the ghost. Don't waste your money.
