About this item

  • Uses a high rate transmission polarizing film
  • Reduces exposure 1.1 Stops
  • The glass absorbs ultra-violet (UV) rays to improve contrast and color

These filters offer both amateur and professional photographers HOYA's famous quality at reasonable prices. They have coatings applied to both surfaces to suppress reflection and increase light transmission. The HOYA HRT circular polarizer filter uses a newly developed High-Rate Transparency film that passes more visible light through the filter while still filtering the same amount of polarized light, this means it can transmit as much as 25% more light through the polarizing film giving the photographer about 1/3 stop more light than a standard circular polarizer. This new polarizing film is also used in the latest HD LCD TVs. The glass of the HOYA HRT filter also has UV absorbing properties making the HRT a combination UV & Circular Polarizing filter. The most common use for a circular polarizer filter is to darken bright blue skies in outdoor photography, but they can also reduce or eliminate reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as glass and water. By rotating the outer ring of the filter the change of effect can be seen by looking though the filter or through the viewfinder if it is mounted on a camera. HOYA is the world's largest optical glass manufacturer, producing glass to specification for almost every camera and lens manufacturer. HOYA is also the world's largest optical filter manufacturer.

Ottimi materiali. Meno caro di altri brand e su alcuni aspetti si percepisce una minore qualità rispetto a filtri più costosi.

A polarizer really bring out the color that software cannot match. The optical quality is great.

I have a D610 and I primarily use the filter on my Tamron 24-70 2.8. Makes the sky and colors pop. Good quality.

I bought two of these. One for the 24-105 and another for the 16-35mm. I have have had mixed results with Circular Polarizers through the year but I have to say. Having used these now on three different photo shoots, they work extremely well. They are consistent and really cut the haze out of an image. Literally, this is polarizing sunglasses for your camera. The detail this brings out in clouds is really nice and creates a consistent blue sky which I find very appealing. This will be a permanent resident in my backpack. I use this for shooting landscapes and buildings. Works really well.

I was recently on a photo shoot with 18 photographers where one of the assignments was to show the effects of using a polarizer. This proved to be the best and most effecitve polarizer.

I'm a little disappointed that the filter has a flaw dead-center and is visible at some settings. Unfortunately, I purchased the filter for a workshop that I had scheduled in the following month. I didn't take the filter out of its protective covering until I got to the workshop at the Golden Gate and then saw the flaw. With the help of my instructor, I was able to limp through the use of the filter, but eventually had to just remove it. Check your filter upon receipt, not a month and a half later like I did.

I use this filter mainly on a Tamron SP 24-70mm f/2.8 VC with a Nikon D800. Works perfectly. I can see no degradation in image quality except for a very little hint of vignetting easily removed in post processing.
