This is an exceptionally bright bulb that will last for about three years of continuous usage. Keep in mind that this is a mogul base sodium bulb, and this isn't compatible with standard bulb bases. I use this off my garage as I have a mogul base lamp there that has ballast and takes a second to warm up (the light blinks a bit as it gets going). I tried this bulb with a mogul base adaptor for regular socket, just to test, and it didn't work because of the requirement of ballast. This is a good price for a bulb like this.
