Did the job to get the car safely locked up but it is very loud and very slow, sometimes even jamming leaving the door locked

This actuator fit my 2009 E90 328i xdrive with a build date of 10/2008. It's hard to find information on early production LCI vehicles. After spending some time digging, I took a chance ordering this part because it looked like BMW didn't switch over to the newer style actuator until after early 2009. Part fits and functions just fine so far--just verify your build date.

I waited a bit to do this review. It’s been over 6 months now and this actuator is working flawlessly. Skip the high cost of the dealer or the roll of the dice with a used unit and just do this.

I bought this one after looking at all the reviews on Amazon. I replaced the old one without any issues after watching several videos online. The new one fit in easily but I recommend aligning the outside two door screws first as it will pull the lock into the correct position to install the last screw on the inside panel. Also recommend using a razor blade or knife to cut through the plastic dust shield adhesive. It's very thick but slices easily and the cover will replace without issues. Also noticed the original had a gasket attached but this replacement didn't. Next time I might use a silicone sealant with a thin bead but probably isn't necessary. After installing the lock worked great without any extra noises or hesitation. I will buy from this company again if I need to repair any other doors.

I like the way the manufacture that make these parts like the original was thinking of looking out for the poorer class people you guy’s came in with parts that can meet everyone standards 💯🙌👍 and I don’t see anything that I don’t like so I thank God for wisdom knowledge and understanding each and Everyday Day 🙏🏽

This product worked great for my 2008 BMW 328i. I was a bit concerned for a couple reasons. (1) For some reason the “Amazon Confirmed Fit - This Fits Your Vehicle” doesn't pop up for this item. In the description, it does say it replaces OEM p/n 51227060295 which is what I have/had for my 328i left rear actuator. However under the same vendor pic below it only lists the 2007-2008 328xi, which from what I understand only differs from the 328i when it comes to the drive train. (2) I noticed that this unit only has (5) pins on the connector where my OEM has (7)...BUT checking my wiring harness, those two same pins have no wires. So that answered that. So, after studying the pic for a bit more I figured for $34.99, I'll take a chance. On a related note, this one does have the child safety switch. On a similar product with a similar price, at least in the pic, you don't see the child safety switch. For those who try to buy made in the USA, yes this is made in China but the next levels up I could find were 2x & 3x the price and also made in China and the car is a BMW so...I got over it.Installation was straight forward, no problems with weather stripping or even reusing my original self tapping (3) mounting screws. If you've been reading reviews you are likely aware that this, the OEM and all similar replacements are NOT pre-threaded. I simply used my cordless drill installing the first screw that faces the interior of the car to pull the unit in against the metal panel, then the two screws facing the door latch. To do this job, you will need a set of plastic trim pry bars. I went to Walmart and bought a (4) piece set for for $5.44. As mentioned elsewhere you'll need a T-20 and T-40 torx bit. (YouTube it). I had the unit installed and the door completely put back together in a little more than an hour. BTW, I verified the operation of the unit 1st by just connecting the unit to the door harness, again after bolting it in place & before the door's sound foam.If it lasts the (2) year warranty period (hopefully more) I will still be happy.

Works almost like OEM. When the door latches and unlatches, you don't get the luxurious opening and closing sound as you do with an OEM assembly. The weather seal was too thick. It was about twice the thickness of the OEM weather stripping. On top of that, it was made of foam that doesn't compress too well. Its thickness made installation difficult as I had no leverage to press the actuator against the door enough to line up all three bolt holes. I ended up cutting down half the weatherstripping thickness to allow proper bolt hole alignment.
