Needed replacement batteries for my 20-year-old BMW 530 remotes. These batteries have the correct orientation of the connections and fit nicely into the remotes. I had a soldering iron which was required to make the connections. My remotes are now as good as new!

The wide + (positive) side tab on this replacement is cut differently than the OEM, so that when the end of the tab is inserted into the PCB, the battery cannot sit flush to the board without the rest of the metal tab lifting up from the battery surface. Which means that (a) the assembly doesn't fit snugly into the case, (b) there's tension on the tab welds on the battery, and (c) there's tension on the PCB pad after soldering. The latter two become potential points of failure (separation), particularly for the PCB pad which is easy to lift if you're not careful!Otherwise, it's 3V and the position of the tabs is correct for a 2007 X3 E83.

The leads from the new battery fit on the board almost exactly as the original. It came in a little below charge, but once installed it charged right up after being in the ignition. Before you consider taking on this project I suggest you consider:1 - Confirm the problem is really the battery. I had 2 non-responsive key fobs. Tore one open to replace the battery, but battery was at full charge. Turns out the 2 non responsive key fobs became unpaired. All I had to do was reprogram all the key fobs.2 - Cutting the key fob apart will take patience, and possibly a few cuts - be careful and patient.3 - Soldering skills are required. You will need to de-solder the old battery, and solder the new one back on the board. The brown battery in the picture is the old one.
