I have this battery installed in my Nuvi and it's working great. Fits fine. I had to take the device apart three times to make it work but eventually got there. The problem was with the connector that attaches to the internal circuit board. It snaps in place but it didn't make the electrical connections. I read some of the other reviews and it was mentioned by someone that the connector wouldn't stay in place. Mine stayed in place but it didn't stay down tight. The other reviewer used some sort of pad above the connector to hold it down when the unit was reassembled. I did the same thing based on their advice and voila, it worked. Unfortunately it also pushed too hard on the back of the screen and caused weird shadows on the display. Took it apart a third time and reduced the thickness of the pad and made it work. The battery is the largest capacity you can purchase but there is something about the connector that is not like the original battery. Based on reviews I assume it has worked for most people. However, there are a bunch of reviews saying it didn't work. Were these connector issues also. Who knows. It's working for me now but I'm giving it three stars only because having to mess around to the extent I did is not something that most people would do. I'd still be trying to make it work if not for that other review. It's not an obvious flaw when looking at it because the connector is very very small.

The old battery was dtd 12/13/13 and wouldn't hold a charge. The new HQRP battery fits and seems to work well. After installation it showed a half charge but after charging for eight hours it seems to be holding charge and working fine. Havent had enough time to check battery life in hours so left that rating blank. The only difference was the center wire on the plug is white instead of the OEM which was green. My unit is Garmin 2598LMTHD and opened with a CR-V T5 driver which has 6 point star (see pix).01/25/2025 Update Edit: Still working and holding charge.

A T5 torx screwdriver is required to remove back of gps unit. If you do not have one you are better off finding a battery kit that includes one. Also no adhesive strip is included with battery. I peeled one off existing battery and that worked. Otherwise, battery worked fine.

The battery plug is defective. It won't stay connected. Tried several times and had to reinstall the old battery to get back home.

HeyI don't know if this might be the same symptom as the people who said they had a dead battery but I discovered that the new battery connector did not snap in place like the original one. I had to cut a piece of the foam material off of the battery and cut that piece again so as to double stack it directly over the connector. This keeps pressure on it after putting the 2 halves back together. My first attempt gave me a battery icon that was red instead of green and a "?" question mark in the center of it. The connection looked to be good but when putting pressure on it with my finger I noticed it still moved down a bit. So after applying the barrowed foam strip pieces. It worked like it should. Hope this helps anyone facing this delima.

Works like a champ. I did not buy the one with the tool to remove screws from the GPS, so it was a little challenging as they are not phillips as they appear. Was able to buy a nice kit from Home depot for $10 that will be useful in the future and still saved about $10 versus the one with the tool included. Highly recommend this product.

It would be better if it was accompanied by the proper tool to open up the GPS. But as far as the battery, it does what is supposed to do. It's even more powerful than the original one.
