This is a really good bulb. Well built and bright for an anchor light - but not so bright as to be overwhelming. The led portion of the bulb is sealed in a clear hard plastic so it should be very weather and corrosion resistant.

For individuals like myself that are not installing this light the way it was intended, here's some info.I used this to make a stern light for my kayak. The BAY15 or BA15 stands for the size of the base which is 0.59". The "D" at the end stands for dual contact. This means the base is not part of the circuit with the 2 bottom contacts being +/- and Polarity free (polarity doesn't matter for this bulb). When soldering wires to the bottom, solder a positive wire to one contact and a negative wire to the other contact, leaving the base out of the equation. Bulb is bright and works great.

So nice to upgrade to LED just by changing the bulb-Just did it so no way to judge longevity. Definitely bright enough.

Returning it though I was getting 24 led lights. Not 24 led lights on each bulb.
