Product Description

Thraed Tap

Straight flute design, used for through-hole and shallow blind hole tapping.

Brand Aceteel
Model Straight Flute
Cutting Direction Right Hand
Material High-Speed Steel 6542

Tips:

  1. Before tapping confirm whether the diameter of the round hole is appropriate, and take protective measures when working.
  2. When tapping, it is necessary to add water or coolant to cool down to prevent excessive temperature and reduce tap loss. If it encounters difficulty in rotation, the tapping should be suspended.
  3. Be sure to select the appropriate cutting oil for the complex tapping process and apply anti-rust oil for maintenance after use.

Works well. Granted it is only used to cut brass at this point. Should hold up a long time for my use.

It did the job. I used it to tap 2 brass shell casings. The end of the tap is wore out already. Its hard to get it started into the new threads now. But with a little jiggling at the start I can still run the bit in and out. If you need a tap for long-term then I recommend buying a better quality.
