Quality of the screen is very lackluster compared to the advertisement photographs. This is a much more pixelated display than expected. The pictures and the advertisement make it look like the shell of the item has a cool metallic color shift effect. And said this thing is entirely flat black with a semi doll colored lighting arrangement on a few areas. On the plus side, it evidently can read your OBD and even reset codes. But these days you can do that with a rather inexpensive device that hooks up to your OBD connection. It does seem to accurately track speed through the OBD connection. The item overall seems to function, but looks and feels much more cheap than expected for the price. If it was advertised in the flat black instead of multiple photographs, showing it having a metallic look, at least wouldn’t have that hindrance to me liking it. You will want to be careful where you mount it because the screen is not very large. And some of the modes, especially ones that show multiple dials are very hard to read if you’re not really close. Also noticed none of the advertisement shows how this would hook up to your OBD. Try a very noticeable long length of wire that has to drape down somehow around or through your dash and reach up to the OBD two sensor connection. You’ll be able to see it in my photographs. Conspicuously absolutely missing in the product visuals. The stars it is getting I give purely because it can read and reset codes. In short, bigger screen, more accurate pictorials displaying the actual product as it will actually look in real life instead of some kind of render, And may be a basic touchscreen would make this a worthwhile product possibly even worth more than the asking price. But I would not price this anywhere close to $50 as it currently is.

I was a wrench twirler in the USAF back when the front line fighter was a pterodactyl with a saddle and reins. Or at least it feels that way whenever I look in the mirror. But even the second generation of jet fighter that I was repairing had a heads' up display. While I never saw one in operation, I did see pictures and films and thought "This is so cool! Cars should have them!" (Minor update: I was at O'Hare Airport in Chicago recently and they have a static display of a WWII Grumman F2F Wildcat like the one flown by Butch O'Hare, for whom Orchard Field was renamed. That one had a head's up display, although I don't know what information it conveyed.)Fast forward an epoch or two and while my car had to stay overnight at the dealer for a recall, the courtesy car that they let me borrow had a factory one. Wow. So when I saw this one, I jumped on it.This one has a nice, bright display (albeit, with a rather narrow angle of view) and I like that the numbers look like actual numbers, not stacked rectangles. Yeah, that was cool and contemporary in 1972, but so was the song Jive Talkin' by the Bee Gees. The screen on this one is great. The unit itself is about the perfect size for the application... not so big it blocks your view, but big enough to read. But here's where the sweet stuff stops. There is a tiny rocker/push button that serves all the setting and control functions. The instructions are complete, (written in Tiny) but the control syntax had me scratching my head and frustrated. Maybe there's a delay, or maybe the switch is a little wonky, but it seemed to only do what it wanted. The accuracy of the speedometer wasn't very impressive, either. I had the one in my dash checked against a certified one, and also against a GPS based unit. As accurate as a tire-based speedometer can reasonably be expected to be. This one reads a bit high. It "added" a couple miles to my daily commute, but that's kind of irrelevant. The tachometer looked about right, but I don't have a certified unit to verify that. That nice display has a rather narrow field of view. But when it's mounted, there isn't any rotation available. Getting it right the first time is pretty important. I would recommend mounting it to the windshield as when removed it would probably be a lot easier to clean the residue from the adhesive pad. Finally, it's not wireless. I knew that from the start, but where the port is on my car, there's no way to route the cable to not risk having it tangle in my legs. That probably could be worked out, but I'm going to try to sell the car in a few months and I'd prefer not to do a bunch of cutting and drilling. The issues that I had may be on me. Maybe I misread the instructions or something. I tried to research the pin-out on the port connector, but found several variations. So I don't know if there is an analog speedometer or tachometer signal or if it gets a digital signal from the same place as the factory gauges.Shame. I Really Wanted to Like This One.

I was hoping this would work with my vehicle. I have a Ford Mustang Mach-e, an EV, and there are some data points that I cannot view from my dash. I was hoping, for example, to be able to use it for things like the state of charge of my low-voltage battery.Unfortunately, I couldn't get any of the readings to work correctly. Even the speedometer would not work.I assume the problem is that it does not work with EVs in general or my vehicle in particular. I was able to cycle through the various options and set up a couple of display options. And with another vehicle, I imagine it would work very nicely. Unfortunately, I don't have another vehicle to test it with.I am hoping to be able to use the OBD2 to USB-C cable to connect to my phone or laptop to read my settings/values. But it did not work for me as HUD.

Item size is small. Screen display is difficult to read from angle view. To get clear reading the display must be put in front of the driver sight in 90 degree. Power connection is from back side which is not helpful to hold the item on the windshield. the advertised dimension is 20 x 5 x 8 cm. the dimension is not correct as the unit is much smaller. Dimension should be 20 x 5 x 8 in mm. The unit price is considered high in compare with other unites of the similar factions.
