I bought this shut-down switch after discovering the original switch on my Husqvarna 128L string line trimmer suddenly became hard to push off and soon became impossible to move the switch rocker from one position to the other - it basically became locked (immoveable) in the OFF position. I read the description and several reviews, indicating this switch is a momentary contact switch, and initially thought I would still prefer the original 2-position switch.I changed my mind after getting it installed and using it on my trimmer. Initially I thought I'd have to hold the switch in the OFF position for a few seconds in order to let the gas engine come to a complete stop, then be able to release it. That presumption turned out to be unfounded, as I quickly determined I only had to hold/push the switch to the OFF position for about one second - maybe less. And this operation has remained consistent, having used the trimmer to trim several areas around our house and turning the trimmer off several times during that task. I now like it better than the original 2-position switch as it doesn't required a second switch operation in order to put the switch ON to start the engine again - just pull the started rope and get to work. I highly recommend this to others needing this switch.

have to hold this switch for a second for it to turn off the weedwacker which is different that the old switch that you just flicked once, but it does the job. Not hard to change either.
