Very good buy, kit had all the essentials to maintain my Stihl FS85. Carburetor work fine first go and I did not even have to tune it.

Used for Stihl FS80R. Motor hard to start and hard to keep running. Spark plug & coil replaced, muffler carbon burned out. Still difficult to run. Decided on replacement carburetor - this hutzl carb & kit was $15. Installation was straight forward, though the new gas lines were a bit curly. Set up needle valves per Stihl. Also used the new spark plug.Motor back-firing, which usually indicates a timing issue. Checked adjustment of coil gap - OK. Still back-firing. Replaced new spark plug with an old Bosch. Runs OK now. Adjust needle valves for performance. Red flag new spark plug.New air filter and new fuel filter may not be as porous as the originals.

My KM85R STIHL powerhead had stopped working. I've had it about 20 years and it had been on a shelf for about 2 years without any use and would not start. A new unit would be around $450. Ordered this kit and it was a perfect fit for the old carburetor. Literally a 10 minute job and my STIHL came right back to life. The kit came with lots of extra carb related items and all for under $20. All this adds up to a 5 STAR review!

I bought a used fs85 for $75 with some issues. This resolved the majority of them. I tune my 2 strokes to run like each second night be their last. I generally run a 37:1 mix ratio as a lean condition can be fatal and pretty quickly. I like to separate the wheat from the chaff when it comes to equipment and honestly I generally prefer echo. I'd rather go ahead and push a machine hard and have failures manifest early than deal with a machine that is going to cause a bunch of downtime due to lacking quality. In the case of a chainsaw, if I am running one all day. The lighter the better but power is also important. I'd take my cs-490 with minimal modifications turned up to 11 over a cs-590 any day. Cs-590 might have a slight edge in the largest part of the trunk but the vast majority of the tree is not the trunk and I can tell you the old boy slinging that 590 around is going to tire quick. In my experience a quality 2 stroke can spend most of it's life at that upper range without issue (provided you account for things like fuel oil ratio, lean conditions in a gasoline engine create more heat and in the case of a 2 stroke where your fuel is your lubricant that combo is fatal).Anyways, ms85 is cleaned and tuned up a absolutely blasting anything in it's path. I even slid the guard back (using the outside 2 screws only instead of all 4 to gain a couple inches in string diameter. Best trimmer I have at the moment.

Saw this Hutzl brand carb on a you tube video so I thought I would try it. Perfect fit, easy to install and fixed my Stihl trimmer. Turned my garage sale find into a great piece of equipment. It came with extra parts which was a bonus

The carb arrived quickly. It fit correctly along with gaskets a plug and filters. Those were all fine. The problem was the carb was very hard to get tuned right for the weed eater it was installed on. All of the other carb kits I have used installed and ran great right out of the box. I have been doing this type of repairs a long time so it isn't my first rodeo. The weed eater was running great before other than the primer bulb was not always priming

Couldn’t find a direct fit carb on amazon for my Stihl BG75 blower, but the models listed here cross referenced with other models that cross referenced with mine so I figured what the heck. The carb in this kit is on the left, and the original carb is on the right. There are some differences, two being an issue. The original carb has a throttle assembly shaft that is longer and tapped with a screw on the end that affixes a plate that operates the throttle linkage. The new one does not have this, instead it has a cable mount on the opposite side of the carb, which will not work with the throttle rod coming from the trigger. I had to use the old shaft in the new carb. Does it fit? Of course not! It’s 0.10 mm too large in diameter. I suppose that’s better than being too small. I had to chuck it in a drill and file, sand, and polish to the correct size. I used a micrometer to get it to the proper size. Took me a good half hour.Ok, we have the right size shaft now. Well, the throttle linkage plate on the end of the shaft is right where the fuel return line is on the primer body. You can see on the original carb it is on the left side and the replacement carb it’s on the right. I had to drill a new hole closer to the mounting screw and cut/file away the end of the plate so it would clear the tubing (see picture) because the plate is not bidirectional. You can’t just rotate it so the connection is on the left side. The plate from the original carb does not fit either.I also had to remove the plastic cones on the trim screws because they would not clear the blower’s outer housing when I tried to put it on.The rest of the parts are good- the filters, tubing, grommets, spark plug, etc. It was tricky to get the tubing onto the filter, seemed more difficult than it should have been. Otherwise no issues. That’s why I gave it five stars... it wasn’t actually meant for my blower, but the kit is nice and it works well once I did a little adaptation. If you’d like to use this on a BG 75 blower than you’ll have some work to do. If you want plug and play then order the correct part from a dealer.
