Old unit was making the telltale clicking noise. A couple screws and a wiring harness and the new one was in. Works quietly and does the job perfectly.

Despite the five star reviews, this actuator is as bad as the ones I found in auto zone. I installed it Saturday morning and it broke Thursday night. Not even a week. I spent two hours installing it because of hard to reach screws. This product shouldn't be sold. I am so mad.

Turning on the Grand Cherokee I kept hearing a loud "clickclickclickclick", pause,repeating that went on for maybe a minute or so, vents were barely blowing cold and hot season was about to be upon us so I bought this to replace whichever actuator does this and replace it, expected it to be one of two on driver side, there is the hot/cold actuator and the one redirecting it to the various vents and found it's neither.It was the third behind glove compartment, that one controls if it's outside air or inside air, expected to find a bad cam as all plastic on this Grand Cherokee likes to crumble, but turns out it was actually slipping gears internally.Was easy to take old one off and put on this in its stead, used the new cam even if old seemed fine.Clicking is gone and HVAC reliable closes vent to only circulate internal air again, from how vents blow now it wasn't closing before, even if clicking stopped and it seemed to have moved flap.I'll probably buy another to keep as spare for when one of the driver side actuators finally does go.

Worked good. Installed it by placing it teeth-to-teeth on the other gear. Then placed the actuator on last.Fit well. Been on 2 hours. No problems yet.
