I want the readers to know that it is a versatile Deb cook. It can be ordered as a wall mount, a railing mount, or a C-clamp mount, which is the one I ordered and I am reviewing. The instructions included with the hook are obviously used for all variations as the instructions for all were on the included leaflet. The hook arrived in eight pieces. There are two pieces like make up the actual hook, as well as the screw that holds them together. The C-clamp and screw attach to the deck railing while the included knob holds the hook on the C-clamp. There is an additional stainless steel piece that is labeled as a spacer. You may decide not to use it, but it will prevent the mounting screw from digging into the wood of the railing. The instructions are good with nice, bright photos to illustrate each step, making assembly a breeze. The hook seems to be good quality and will hold considerable weight, though exactly how much I can’t say. What I especially like about the C-clamp is that it can easily accommodate a thicker railing, as mine is. Most can only accommodate a 2 inch railing. You can have the hook portion hanging over the edge of the deck as is tradition. However, you have the option to swing the hook inward so that it is actually hanging over the deck surface itself. But, because I’m a klutz, I would just bumped into it if I hung it that way.The price seems mid-range for this type of product. Now I just need the hummingbirds to show up!

A great and simple bird feeder hook. I do wish it was a little more decorative but if you’re looking for a straight forward bird feeder hook that’s easy to install and strong for your bird feeder this is it. It’s easy to install and it’s strong.

This came beautifully packaged, though the exterior was a bit confusing, as it referred to a seeded bird feeder, rather than a deck hook. That confusion aside...Each component was individually wrapped in its very carefully packaged enclosure. There are two gantry portions which allows a notable extension, but in our case, we needed every inch as you will see toward the end of the pictures. The two components lock securely, with both a flat portion to keep it from turning and a dimpled portion to allow the thumb screw to set firmly into a depression. For security, I would recommend that you use a product similar to Loctite Blue, a fastener securing liquid which will still allow you to undo it in the future, but will prevent it from vibrating loose as the wind catches whatever it is you are hanging from this gantry. You have your choice of how you would like to have the gantry extend away from the the tightening knob: it could be with the tightening knob inboard or outboard, as you prefer. As well, you can use the knob to loosen the gantry so that it can be swung in to refill the bird feeder(s? more on that later) without having to stretch that extended distance away from your rail.About that "feeders" part. That tighening thumbscrew is an ideal point to hang a second item of whatever sort you wish. Our use of it has a small birdhouse on the thumbscrew post, and a hummer feeder on the hook. The advertising is specific as to the reach, so I'll not belabor the point other than to reinforce that you'll probably want the ability to bring it back in from outside the railing for refilling or whatever, unless you are both tall and have 38" sleeves as I am/do (but I still bring it in).As well, it is visually appealing, so the achieved height in this gantry was important; some of my other hooks are much smaller, and the wind chimes on it are below the railing, and difficult to see.I like it a lot!

Excellent hanger! We're waiting for the hummingbirds to return, in about 2-3 weeks here, & are ready to hang their nectar! This bar is sturdy, strong, and has a nice smooth finish. It works perfectly for our deck rail. It certainly makes for a more attractive presentation of the feeder, & is easy to remove it for filling & cleaning. Well see how the ant control works after we hang it for the birds. I'll update. In the meantime, I don't think you'll be disappointed in the hanger!

This iBorn Wall Mount Deck Hook is nice and sturdy. I ended up mounting it to a post. I like that you can swing it around to face a different direction by just loosening the hand screw and swiveling it. I am currently hanging a full bird feeder on it. Once the weather warms up, I will probably then hang my wind chimes on it. I really like the 28” length which gets the bird feeders or suet feeders high in the air. Very easy to mount, I used my cordless drill and bit to install the screws into the mounting bracket. Reasonably priced I would buy this again.

I am very impressed with the quality and design of this sturdy, railing-mounted hanger. It is very well made and quick and easy to assemble and attach to your deck. The mounting brackets can accommodate different sizes of vertical deck rails, making it perfect for decks that can't accommodate a hanger that mounts on the top horizontal rail. (As an alternative, you could mount it to a wood fence with #10 or #12 screws that are 1.5” to 2” long, with corresponding washers - but you would need to buy the screws and washers.) We are using this to hang a hummingbird feeder, but it is sturdy enough to hang a larger feeder or flower basket. The hanger arm is held in place by a strong screw which can be loosened to spin the arm in or out for easy access to the item your hang, for watering, refilling seed, etc.Bottom line, this is a great item that I highly recommend. I like it so much that I just ordered a two-pack so we will have three of these hangers for our deck!
