Everything was soldered correctly and the led turned on briefly once powered up with 12V but never worked after that. The support page takes me to their soldering iron page instead of Ultrasonic levitation kit.

Hard to install ICs. Instructions didn’t quite match PCB but we managed. It did work but tricky to get the little balls to float. Then just look at it. Other kits are more interesting when completed.

The chips are much smaller than the image makes them out to be which makes this kit not for beginners. I did complete the kit while following the instructions and it did not work.EDIT: After writing this review they have issued me a refund. I have added a star for good customer support.

Somewhere I made a mistake and it didn't work but the instructions were clear and concise. Double check work and make sure everything is correct.Nothing bad to day about it. It's a good learning tool.EDIT 10/4/2024Repurchased it to redo it. Successfully did everything and it worked perfectly. IC chips are still a huge pain so take time on them. The device makes no sound and doesn't vibrate when it turns on, however it does hold the balls in place. It's a really cool device. It captures the ball and pulls it in like a magnet. So if nothing happens try to put the ball in first to make sure it's not working before you think something is off!

consider myself experienced at soldering. but this was so hard to solder. the pins are so small. how can you say this is good for beginners? i don't think the whole thing is worth it. i wish i had known that it would be a waste to purchase this. i cannot fasten the first piece on. then if i try more i am worried it will burn out the chip.

This is a really fun kit and worked perfectly the first time with a very cool end result! It was my first SMD project, but it was doable with a decent quality soldering iron, some extra flux, a solder sucker and a magnifying lamp. "SMD Soldering Tutorial" on YouTube was also very helpful. It's actually much faster than through-hole once you get the hang of it!You'll need a 12v DC power supply (I used the one from my Ansmann battery charger).
