This plate works great. Thrown various materials on it and they all stick fine. The patterns on each side are also a nice touch and adds to the printing finish. Overall great item.

I know that 'PEO' is just marketing and it's really just a textured vinyl sticker on the side but I really enjoy the finish on the PEO side for PLA prints. I've used the textured PEI side for PETG and TPU (with a release agent) and it also works perfectly. Definitely recommended for the price.

Over the years, I've tried various build plate textures, including textured, satin, and smooth variations of PEI. I recently discovered these PEO-style plates and was eager to test one.I printed several test models in both black and light-colored ABS on the PEO side of the sheet. The adhesion was good, though not quite as strong as a high-quality PEI plate, which could be a concern with larger, more complex ABS prints due to potential warping. However, I believe it would perform reliably with PLA. I'm not sure how PETG would react with PEO, so caution might be necessary, as PETG can form damaging bonds with some build plate textures.Regarding the texture's design and how it transfers to the print, it's fairly subtle but has an attractive iridescent effect that I really like. The effect shifts in the light as you move the printed object around. In my tests, this was more noticeable with darker-colored filament.I did not test the textured PEI side of the sheet, as I have other textured PEI sheets of the same quality, and I'm confident it would perform similarly. As other reviewers have noted, this sheet is thinner than a standard Prusa build plate. Depending on your printer, you may need to adjust the Z offset to compensate. Despite being thin, it is not flimsy, and as it's made of spring steel, it is unlikely to bend out of shape.I am pleased with the effect this plate imparts on printed parts, and I'm considering purchasing the mock carbon fiber version of this build plate.

Slowing down speed and increasing the heat are usually required for the first layer to adhere. otherwise a great print bed. It is my number one used print bed now. I have no warpage and PETG works great. Bend and they pop right off.

Review for IdeaFormer Gold Double Sided Textured PEI Spring Steel Sheet 241x253.8mmI recently became an owner of Prusa MK4 which by default comes with steel sheet. Only after assembly I found out that steel sheet with PEI protective layer is not recommended for printing PETG due to high bonding of zero layer. So I bought this textured sheet as add-on for PETG printing.Pros:* Same size as original sheets for Prusa MK4* Perfect zero layer texture* Perfect zero layer adhesion while sheet is hot (80C for PETG). Once cooled down, models peel off with minimal force (with one bare hand, no need for spatula)* Reasonable price (paid $24 + tax) comparing to original Prusa sheetsCons:* (minor and only for previous/non-MK4 Prusa) Sheet has different thickness than original Prusa MK3/MK4 sheets. If you use MK4 then auto leveling takes care of it. Otherwise, need to recalibrate zero level when swapping between sheets.

this makes prints look so professional. I used to hate printing in shiny PETG bc it looks trashy on a smooth or satin printbed, but this textured bed makes the parts look very professional. It's similar to the one that prusa uses for the orange parts on the MK4/S. I have never had a single bed adhesion issue using PETG or PLA.

The textured side has the perfect level of adhesion with pla and petg. It gives a nice textured appearance to the underside of printed objects.

The IdeaFormer Textured Build Plate for Prusa 3D printers, specifically models like the MK3S, provides an excellent upgrade for enhancing print quality and aesthetics. This double-sided plate features a smooth PEO and textured PEI surface, measuring 241x253.8mm, designed to fit perfectly on compatible Prusa beds.Performance and Design:The textured side excels with materials like PETG, preventing issues such as lifting and adding a subtle yet visually appealing geometric pattern to the first layer of prints. This design not only improves adhesion but also adds a distinctive aesthetic touch without being overly perceptible to the touch. Users should plan their prints to make the most of this textured effect, as it only applies to the part of the print in contact with the build plate.Versatility:While the versatility of having a double-sided plate is appreciated, the smooth PEI side might seem redundant for those who already possess standard PEI plates. An alternative texture on the reverse could have provided additional value and differentiated this build plate further from others on the market.Recommendation:Overall, the IdeaFormer Textured Build Plate is a commendable choice for Prusa users looking to upgrade their printing surface. It effectively combines functionality with aesthetic enhancements, making it a worthy investment for those keen on detailed and reliable 3D printing. I recommend this product, giving it a strong 4 out of 5 stars, for its quality performance and the unique finish it brings to prints.

This plate performs very well on the textured side for PETG on my MK4. I don't use the smooth side since they say it's only usable for PLA and I don't print in PLA anymore. Overall, I would say the quality is good, but the finish work is mediocre on the edges of the plate. They are not smoothed/beveled to make them not feel sharp. All my PRUSA plates (powdercoated, stock etc) have smooth edges all the way around the plate, the Ultistik I use does as well. This one feels like it was cut and put in a bag, with little finishing work on the edges. The only other negative is the sheet itself is a much less rigid sheet than the PRUSAs or Ultistik. I wanted to see more resistance like I do with those sheets. Performance so far seems to be good, but I'll update the review if that changes.
