Perfect and was easy to install

The handle is nice, however the breaking of the screws to fit certain size thickness doors is rather obvious that the hardware is cheap and easily damaged. Couldn't even install due to the screws breaking off with minimal effort.

Fairly easy to install. Instructions clear. Will need a few basic tools, such as pliers to snap screws to proper length. Hardest part is blindly aligning the screws through the frame into the opposite screw holes. I've never installed a door handle and found it straightforward - although I did quadruple check the screw length before I snapped them hahaha

The screw selection is not complete. I need screws that are 2" long and the shortest that came with it is 2 1/4". I have to fabricate spacers to get it working.

I'm not a handyman but seeing other reviews I figured I would try to install on my own. First thing I found puzzling was the pull handle was in two parts. Try as I might I couldn't figure out how to re-assemble it. Finally, I found a hint in the FAQ of the manufacturer's website. After that, it was rather tricky to get all the holes lined up and the various parts properly sized for length. Issues kept cropping up but eventually after about an hour I managed to complete the install (after removing my existing broken latch set). Thankfully, the existing strike plate was still usable and all works like a charm. Very pleased with the quality so far!

Used these for two screen/storm doors I built recently. They work great, look great, and are easy to install in new wooden doors.I really like how simple they are to install, and how foolproof the latching mechanism is. Just drill 3 small diameter holes through the door. The strike is surface mounted, so no mortising is required there, either—and diagonal slots make it easy to adjust the strike's position so that it latches tightly. It would be nice if Ideal included a paper template for drilling the door, but since new wooden storm doors is not their market, I can see why they did't—it would probably confuse 99% of the customers for this handle set.The feel is good— very solid and tight. Nicely done, Ideal.I am a builder of handcrafted log homes, and built the two doors for my own house. This painted brown set was purchased as a replacement for the original 35-year old storm door handle and latch. After experimenting with the different spindles included in the kit, I found the one that extended to the correct length. (Five are included along with an assortment of different screw lengths.). It did *not* match the length of the original, so don't make that assumption. I only dropped the components once while working both sides of the door. Rather than needing shims to fit the attach strike, I would be required to chisel out the space. This won't be happening due to a lack of tools and skill. The latch happens to catch, although loosely, on the storm door frame itself. As the handle was the most important part of this replacement, I am quite satisfied. The pull handle is snug and functions smoothly, both from the inside and outside. I might have given it 4 stars if it had been available without the backplate (requiring an additional hole to be drilled) in oiled bronze.

I had a door that was 2 inches thick originally but had been dented in where the previous handle struck a post when the wind caught it. The extra hardware that this handle came with made it easy to find the right size for my non-standard thickness. One review I read before purchasing mentioned the plastic latch plate as a point of concern regarding longevity....based on the type of plastic used and the design of the part I have no such concerns. Everything else is metal and designed well for consistent functionality; I expect this handle to last for quite some time.Others also mentioned that you should be careful not to lose the spring because there's only one....my response is "well, duh." I don't think there's any need to include an extra one; the install is not difficult and the spring is not under compression at any point where screws aren't holding things together. Due to my non-standard door I had to install and remove it several times to find the right solution but still never had a problem with the spring.Overall, I think it is well worth the price, simple to install, easy to operate with full hands, good looking, and it's even lockable. This one checks all the boxes for me. Great product. Very happy.

Installation was simple. Two biggest challenges were 1) there are excess parts you won't use because there a different sized attachments to accommodate different thickness doors and 2) I didn't recognize the door frame closure at first because I was looking for the typical old spring loaded closure. This one uses a solid plastic one. At first I skeptical about the closure design and the plastic, but the design is actually very good (can adjust easily for solid door closure) and the plastic material seems to be weather resistant. My concern with plastic is that a lot of times it gets brittle over the years and can snap off (this design was thought out enough to prevent this) and the discoloration / yellowing. Time will tell how the latch does with age, but I think it will be fine. The best part is the ease of use when you open the screen door by pulling up on the handle rather than pushing in a thumb button which gets harder over the years. It is a world of difference and worth the extra cost of this handle. Opening the door is effortless. The one I replaced was still functioning (but poorly) and lasted 16 years. I expect this one will last at least as long and if it does it will have been a great investment. Worth the extra few bucks.Note: Just for clarification, the plastic closure is not shown in the item photo. The closure is the piece that gets attached to the door frame to keep the door closed. The two items in the photo are attached to the door and open/close it from the outside and inside. Those two items are coated aluminum.

This product worked really well on an odd sized storm door I needed to repair. It came with a selection of different length push rods and bolts that would fit almost any door. Easy to install.and I like the lift style handle because it's easy to open with full hands. The handle is high quality, the interior latch is a heavy plastic (why not metal?). The lock is adequate, not great, but I don't rely on my storm door to keep out burglars, so... All-in-all a good purchase.
