Expensive, but best possible transmission fluid for Honda Automatic Transmissions. For reference, I drive a 2002 Honda Accord V6. The 6th generation Accords, especially the V6 options, are notorious for failures. This is mostly caused by heat and poor adhesives on the clutch pack material, leading to slipping and poor shifting. The original ATF was Z1, then replaced by DW-1 by Honda later. Both were manufactured by Idemitsu. Now, my ATF was very old when I got the car, so dark I thought it was engine oil when it leaked because it was so black. The recommended fix for this is to replace the ATF in a 3-replace pattern, with a full drain and fill, followed by some driving and shifting to allow the ATF to flow everywhere, and replace it twice more. This will replace almost all the ATF. Due to cost, I was using Valvoline’s Maxlife ATF, which performed quite well, but there wasn’t much to help the transmission. Some additives helped, but only Lubegard’s Red and Instant Shudder Fix products. One day, on the V6Performance.net forums, I found this Idemitsu Type-H recommendation and decided it was worth it. After all, if Idemitsu created Honda’s OEM, surely they know what they’re doing. So, I’ve been driving on this for the past 6 months, and have so far been shocked by the consistent reliability. Before, shifting from 1st to 2nd was incredibly rough, and worse from 2nd to 1st. Park to reverse was bad too, making the entire car lurch. Beyond that, the RPM required to speed up was much higher than it was supposed to be, leading to lost power and higher ATF temperatures. Now, it almost feels like a new transmission! It’s not perfect, there’s still some hitching in the shifts, but it’s not nearly as bad as it was, even with all new ATF, and once it’s warmed up, sometimes shifting is invisible. Going from wondering how soon I have to buy a new transmission to realizing I can cost for probably at least a few more years is an incredible change. Highly recommended!

Idemitsu is the OEM manufacturer of the ATF supplied in Honda factory transmissions. It can correct poor trans performance caused by generic "Asian" ATF. It's the only fluid I put in my 24 year old Honda Accord EX.

Used the whole 5 quarts on a couple drain and fills for my 2011 accord 2.4l. Transmission is working fine so far after a couple hundred miles.

Seems great. The shame of it is if you change your transmission fluid at home and don’t have a flushing machine you have to waste some of this fluid during a 3 stage change process. No biggie. The old car shifts gear nicely and is good for another 100,000 kms.

I have been using this for 10+ years in my Honda vehicles. I donated one vehicle at 208,000 miles because I wanted something else (it ran and drove fine). I still have a 2011 and 2014 that use it. If this fluid wasn't the real deal, then those transmissions would have failed a long, long time ago.

If you're looking for the OE correct fluid that was put in your vehicle when it's manufactured 90 plus percent chance in fact I would say 100% positive because I've done my research this company IDEMITSU made automatic transmission fluid for your vehicle. I know that Nissan CVT transmission fluid is manufactured by this company. Do not pay $20 a quart for the fluid that is Branded Nissan or whatever brand your vehicle may be because they manufactured vehicles this company here manufactures the fluid that the vehicle manufacturers put in the vehicles on the assembly line. Google it do your research and find out for yourself. I did and wish I'd done it sooner because the first time I changed my CVT transmission fluid in my Nissan rogue it costed me $200 for the fluid just for the fluid and that was off of eBay and I thought I was getting this deal at $20 a quart boy was I wrong. I could have got the same amount for less than half the price

Idemitsu is the OEM supplier for Honda fluids. Therefore, don't waste your money buying the exact same fluid in a Honda bottle. This fluid works flawlessly. And, if you have an Acura MDX, with the 5-speed, you know it is critical to change your transmission fluid regularly. Using this Idemitsu fluid makes it painless and far less expensive than paying the Honda / Acura markup.First generation Acura's used the Z-1 fluid. Forget it. You are far better off with this H-Plus fluid. It is compatible with Z-1 and it's replacement, DW-1.It is a synthetic fluid so it doesn't break down like the original fluid could. It will also keep your transmission properly lubricated and shifting smoothly. This is by far a 5-star fluid. I have used Idemitsu fluids in all of my compatible vehicles, such as a Volvo, with perfect results.
