I got this as a spare to kerp with me. I have found that the gm distributor is usually very reliable, but if one of these goes bad out on the water the engine would just shut down and quit. I have not needed it, but the wires plug in well and it appears the same as the one on my Mercruiser 3.0

This is the marine version but it works the same for the automotive applications. I have it as a spare as I had an issue this past summer the fried 3 modules before I found that my issue was the coil that had a shorted primary winding.
