I give this a 3 star over all because it did as advertised as far as ripping dirt. The ripper is inly bout 2 inches, so it will NOT be a big trench as far as width concerns. Was able to get about 12 inches deep. The apparatus itself is 2inches of square tube. It will not fit in a 2 inch receiver. I was lucky that I had a way to make it work for me on my SXS. In the pictures it shows a sleeve, the sleeve looks like it might make this work with a 2 Inch receiver. However, I ordered seeing that piece in the picture. It did not come with it. Overall a 3 due to having too come up with something to make this work with my receiver.

This product is well made but it DOES NOT fit in a 2 inch receiver. It is the same size as a 2 inch receiver. You cannot buy an adapter that joins this to a two inch receiver. You would need to make your own adapter that would bridge your receiver and this product....HASSLE!!!

Customer service promptly sent missing part, and it works very well.

Product design is poor. The part that marries up to the hitch is female, just like the hitch. So you have to purchase a piece of tubular steel, and drill it, to mount it to the hitch receiver. Metal on the hook is very soft, bent over 1st time I used it. All in all it's a piece of junk !!! Don't waste your money.

I bought this instead of paying $150 to rent a trencher for the day. I used this on the back of an atv to cut a small 400 ft long trench for a data line, this could easily be used behind a car or truck with a 2" receiver. I then used it to cut small drainage ditches between jumps on a bike trail and watched the water chase me as I drove along to the lowest point saving from the need to hand cut hundreds of feet in the mud. I went slow and made wide sweeping turns and had zero problems. The chunks of soil and grass went right back in the cut and will not be noticeable once the grass grows in this spring. I managed to cut several inches down but with a bit of fabrication I could easily make several passes to cut deeper but it wasn't needed in my case.

This is a very well made tool. No your not going to be able to make zero turns while it is in the ground. Use it as intended and it works excellent.

Works quite well, as long as you use it as intended. It is not as strong as a tractor implement, but does what it is supposed to. I used it to bust up @ 1 1/2 acres of hard packed clay, full of rocks and roots. The narrow head doesn't lay out a furrow but it will rip in and loosen the soil. Use it only in a straight line and you'll have no trouble. The reviews saying it bent were by users who tried to turn while it was in the ground. Use it as intended and it will work fine.
