The bass drum dampener works as advertised. It quiets the bass drum so there is not any loud booms when practicing. The cover comes off to allow a bass drum sound when playing gigs. I would recommend buying this product again.

This bass drum pad significantly reduces volume without changing the tone. It mounts easily with pre-attached self-adhesive pads on the inside of the patch. Within minutes, you'll be cutting your playing volume dramatically. A set of low-volume cymbals, also available on Prime Amazon, is a nice addition for low-volume drumming.

Reduces volume from impact substantially. Still will need to put pillows in bass drum to reduce volume in most cases for really quiet playing.

These kick drum mufflers work very well. I use an electronic kit here at the house, but use an actual acoustic kick drum as the feel of the electronic drum is not the same. So with using an acoustic kick drum, I needed a way to cut down on the sound and this pad worked perfectly. The drum still reacts like a normal acoustic kick drum. Put the sound that it puts out is greatly reduced and the trigger still triggers the sound precisely.

When you're the singer in a band, guess what you get to hear? Yep, the constant banging of the drums. Thank goodness, I found these pads, hopefully they keep me from losing my hearing as well as my mind. The funny thing is, I didn't even tell him when I put the muffler on his bass drum. He just sat down, started banging away and actually made the comment that his bass drum sounded better. It was then that he finally noticed it. By then it was too late, everyone else also agreed that it was better for all of us. We have a small practice room and we had tried the usual tricks, the pillow inside the bass, but so far this pad is the only thing that's made a noticeable difference. So yes, we are all very pleased with this pad. Now please note if you're a musician, this doesn't completely deaden the sound, it just softens it enough to make it bearable for the rest of us. Super easy to install and you can take it off when needed, but trust me, you'll want to leave it. Thank you.

These drum mute pads are working out excellent. Our drum room does not have very high ceiling and as a result, sometimes the drums (especially the bass drum) start making a lot of echo. Although my main motivation was to reduce the overall loudness, this has actually made them sound better... like more crisp sound with less echo. I should probably get one for the snare drums as well. Keep in mind that once you attach them to the drums, they can be easily removed whenever needed although the sticker to which they attach is kinda permanent.

I could smell the industrial adhesive even before opening the package! This is made out of two pieces of rubber, but they look like they're put together pretty hastily. The rubber is the kind that you find in knee or elbow pads, and start to lose density where the knee cap hits the ground. Same kind of foam! After practicing pretty hard on these, they started to dent a little, as predicted.But for every product, there's a perfect application. These do mute the drum pretty good - for two reasons, softening the hit and as a large damper. The best thing about these is the velcro adhesive for sticking to the head. So you will have a to attach 4 adhesive squares to your bass drum, but you can also remove the large mute whenever you want. That's an added advantage.
