I was skeptical about this item, initially considering it just hype because of the many videos reviewing coffee baskets. However, it only took one shot to turn my doubts into a party of flavors in my mouth. Compared side by side with my stock bottomless basket, there was no bitterness—just pure flavor and a noticeable boost in body. I absolutely love this basket!

I ordered this nice basket from Amazon, arrived super quickly and priced right. Came in a nice IMS box, out of the box I received the "IMS Competizione" basket designed for 58mm portafilters , which could hold 18-22grams espresso grinds. The holes appears to be even and through and through without any chips. Works as expected with my Gaggia Classic Pro Evo machine's bottomless portafilter. I can easily use my distribution tool and tamper. I highly recommend this basket.

Bought this non-coated 20gr ridgeless basket at the same time as the fancy Pesado HE basket to replace the stock double shot that came with the ECM portafilter.IMS easily wins every time. More balanced taste, faster work flow, way easier to dial in. A little bonus: traditional curved bottom means beautiful tiger stream although I could make similar stream with Pesado too towards the end of shower stream.High extraction type of basket just trick your mind that more = better. More expensive, more extraction = more boldness & brightness, too much tinkering. More cool & more complications. I’d pass on flat edge to edge bottom from this point.Skip any nano coating for the longevity.

I'm new to the in-home espresso machine obsession, so I've tried several baskets with my bottomless portafilter ranging in price from the included basket up to a quite expensive on from Weber Workshop. This one is my favorite, hands down. It's straight-walled, doesn't run too fast, doesn't create too much back-pressure, and produces reliable results every time. a totally worthwhile upgrade.

Purchased a bottomless for my calphalon and now I am using this. Grinding 3-4 steps finer, and shots have been great and more consistent. Plenty of head room at 22 grams so way less mess!

Too much space between coffee surface and group head if using 18 grams of grounds. I'm getting leaking around the portafilter (even after replacing the gasket), and sloppy, loose, falling apart pucks. It works better with 20g, but I prefer to use 18. El cheapo basket that came with the machine works much better.

I'm using this basket on my Gaggia Evolution espresso machine with a Rancilio Rocky grinder along with a 58mm coffee distributor tool (also purchased here on Amazon from "Apexstone") and a basic steel tamper. With the typical roasts I use for espresso (usually Peru or Guatemala blends that are on the darker side of medium roast), this basket completely changed my pulls. I'm getting much more texture and a broader range of flavor notes. Absolutely worth the money spent.I also had some fresh roasted coffee beans on hand that were a much lighter roast, but I've yet to be able to get a "great" shot from them using this basket (but to be fair, I couldn't really get a great pull from them with the original basket either). I did manage to get close though- I got some acceptable shots using this basket with an extremely fine grind and lighter tamp while surfing the temp up a bit higher before pulling. I think I need to upgrade my gear across the board to get good pulls from lighter roasts but this basket did help a little.Overall, this basket is a great bang-for-buck way to improve pulls from your Gaggia.
