Self-oiling

The automatic oil dispensing system will keep the wheel lubricated while you cut. The transparent handle also acts as a reservoir and lets you monitor the cutting fluid level. Free oil dropper included. For beginners, it's hard to control the oil, to avoid the leak, you can just dab the tip in cotton ball or small cloth soaked with oil before scoring your glass without adding oil into the handle.

How to Use

1. Thoroughly clean the glass you intent to cut. Lay the glass on a clean, flat, layered surface. Measure and mark the glass where you wish to cut.

2. Add some oil into the handle, which make the cutting head more fluent when cutting.

3. Hold glass cutter firmly, maintain the same pressure through out the score. Oil will be emitted as you work You can also use a ruler to score the line.

4. Gently tap the glass underneath the line with the metal ball head, and the glass will break along the line neatly.

6. Smooth out any sharp edges.

Notes:

1. Always wear clear safety glasses and protective gloves while cutting.

2. Don’t go back for a second stroke: score it only once in a smooth, even motion.

3. Cold glass is harder to work with. Getting your glass closer to room temperature makes it easier to work with. Not for use with tempered glass.

4. Practice makes a more confident maker

For the price you can't beat this cutter. Spring loaded, oil fed, and with 2 different a size cutting heads you can't go wrong with this item. I use it regularly for quarter inch, ssb, and dsb glass and haven't had an issue yet.

Funktioniert einwandfrei. Der Griff ist aus Kunststoff und macht keinen stabilen Eindruck, aber bei dem Preis kann man nicht mehr erwarten.

I got this tool, filled it with oil, and proceeded to cut 1/8 in. glass. I pressed very lightly on my first few attempts, and the glass did not cleave when I tapped on it. I finally pushed down firmly when drawing my cut, and the glass cleaved cleanly. I then cut subsequent pieces easily. Bottom line: be prepared to experiment a bit to get a feel for using the too.

As a kid, I repaired many windows I broke with my baseball using a red devil glass cutter. I tried my old cutter on 0.2 inch thick mirrors with not much success. I bought this product based on it's reviews. I had success with small pieces but was a disaster with long cuts. Overall, the cutter didn't work any better than my old red devil on these mirrors.

I used to hate cutting glass for picture frames, but this cutter is a joy to use. Very easy to learn and consistent results. Don't buy those cheap steel wheel cutters and just go with this from the start to save you a lot of frustration. Listen for that ripping sound to know you're putting the right pressure on the glass.

Quality tool! Very happy with it, and cut 1/4" mirror like a hot knife through butter! Would buy again if needed. I did not try the oil feature, as it cut fine without.
