When going to scouting jamborees this comes in handy for marking your mess kit and refillable water bottles. To be honest, its uses are endless and the magnetic head has multiple purposes as well. Great product!

It will do exactly what I needed (tear full sheets of sand paper down to quarters) and if it lasts a year it will more than pay for itself. Good packaging at a reasonable price.

These IMT Scribes are really nice tools. There are two in the package with two extra tips. I scribed an aluminum plate that I cut and fabricated for a 4 toggle gang box for my off road lights. The scribe worked well and with the carbide tip, should last me for years. Good value tool and the price was excellent.

These are very nice, good quality scribers. I will use them to transfer image outlines onto wooden display stands before painting. That said there are lots of other uses I will put them to around the house.

I am writing this review for my boyfriend. We share this account and he was the one who ordered this. First off. This scribe is pointy as hell. So be careful when taking it out of the package. These little guys shipped in record time. The packaging was standard bubble envelope. The plastic package was not damaged in any way and inside the package the scribes had little plastic tubes covering the points so you do not prick yourself. They both worked really well. We immediately got scratch happy and tested it on lots of stuff. It worked on glass, wood(obviously), metal sheets, and my copper wire that I use for jewelry. These scribes are great!

I like these and the price makes them a great value. My only reservation is that the magnet at the top makes their behavior on the bench somewhat unpredictable; I often end up picking up more than I bargained for when I lift it off the bench. The extra tips make these long-lived with reasonable care. Carbide is brittle, so any rough handling will lead to tears no matter what the brand. I recommend keeping the tip reversed to protect the point when not in use, or keeping track of the little plastic tube that protects the tip in shipment and replacing it between uses. I expect the pair of these to last me a long time. They make nice clean scribe marks that are a balanced "V" shape, unlike the "one-sided-V" scribe marks made by my height gage. The balanced scribe marks make locating a prick punch much easier and more reliable for centering a hole, which is mostly what I use these for.

The scribers shipped quickly, are as described, and are of overall good quality. I liked that each scribe came with an extra tip, though I suspect it will take a very long time to wear out the tip already installed. I also liked that each tip had a plastic cover over it so the user won't accidently get punctured by the sharp point. The only negative I noticed is that while it is still serviceable, the chuck in one of the scribes did not grip the tip as tightly as I think it should have (the tip pulled out of the chuck when trying to remove the tip cover). When I examined it closely, the slit in that chuck was not centered or cut squarely.
