I bought this to replace an adapter that had failed. Turns out that the CH340/341 chipset it uses does not have drivers in the most recent Linux builds (I use Debian). You can download the driver source code from QinTech, but I couldn't get it compile on my Raspberry Pi and wasn't inclined to mess about with it, so returned the device.

I needed a USB to 485 converter adapter to be able communicate to a Telco SS2 Scanner to program it through Telco Space Scan Software. I plugged in this converter adapter and my computer immediately found a driver no need to download or run a disk. I wired A+ and B- of the adapter to the 485 com wires on the scanner, and after finding and signing the correct port in the Telco software the LED TX and RX lights started to blink and the Space Scan software found the scanner. I was able to program it and use it in my ladder logic programs. Then I scaled it in the Telco Space Scan software to with in .030 accuracy on a 16 inch SS2 Telco light curtain scanner for measuring various objects in ladder logic. For the price so far this adapter works great and having the TX RX light indicators on it is a great help to know when it is communicating and not. This adapter comes with a USB extension cord but is was not needed for my application. You might need it for yours as the adapter is a bit on the wide side and covers up the USB port next to it when plugged directly into the computer just keep that in mind.

Recognized by my computer. It seems sending something with the TXD led blinking, but cannot receive anything.

Worked right away on Windows 10. With no manual driver install needed. I used it with both YABE and Modbus with great results.

I purchased this unit to use for programming AutomationDirect Variable Frequency Drive model GS10.It worked without issue once I reversed the lines, the VFDs use crossover connections.I used it on my old Windows 7 laptop that I've re-purposed for shop use
