The Innovate Motorsports SCG-1 is a revolutionary approach to boost control that integrates an advanced standalone boost controller with Innovate's industry leading Direct Digital wideband air fuel ratio technology. When we decided to build a boost controller, we knew we had to offer more capabilities than other products available today, while still maintaining the user friendly functionality demanded by our customers. Instead of repackaging the same boost control technology that has been used for decades, we choose to pair our advanced O sensor control technology with our all-new, proprietary solenoid control that provides superior boost control accuracy, response and safety. We also added a user programmable shift light and housed the entire package in a compact gauge body for ease of installation and use. As with all of our air/fuel ratio products, the SCG-1 utilizes the only 100 percent digital wideband air/fuel ratio technology to provide real time feedback to the SCG-1. This air/fuel information is displayed on an integrated OLED display along with manifold pressure and waste gate duty status. The air/fuel ratio information is also used to provide a user definable boost cut that enhances the safety margin over most competitors offerings that only rely on over boost threshold. The SCG-1 has a full-programmable analog output ideal for applications using standalone ECU's, piggy-back ECU's or external data loggers. The SCG-1 also has a digital input/output for integration with our other Modular Tuning System (MTS) devices. This same digital output can be used to record air/fuel ratio, solenoid duty cycle, engine speed and manifold pressure with our free LogWorks PC software to help you dial in a perfect boost curve.

I used this for about a year and ended up removing it and selling it. It always felt as though it was holding back boost on my car. I tried different settings on the controller but it just seemed to be holding the car back. I installed my manual boost controller back on and as I suspected the car was back to making the power I was expecting. I did like the boost gauge feature and boost recall feature to see how much boost you reached. The built in rpm gauge and shift light was nice to have. The wide band works well but doesn’t read until the car is running. This matters if you are trying to tune the car for cold start but can’t get a reading until a few seconds after the car is running.

The display is beautiful, although unreadable under sun light (convertible), the setup is easy and value is good but the the boost controller is awful and definitely the weak point! The gain function doesn't seems to do anything and the transition between spring pressure and active pressure is really steep and not fun at all! I've looked for an update but apparently but there is none.

I have had my SCG-1 for about 10 months. For 8 months it worked flawless and worked as described. About a month ago I had started having issues with my wideband. It would jump all around on the AFRs and then it would finally just stick to full lean or full rich. Mostly would stick to full lean. Sometimes it would not even heat up and read the AFRs for a while. I would calibrate the sensor properly and it would last for a half a day, day or sometimes two days with no issues. Out of nowhere it would start doing the exact same thing again. Recalibrate and start back over again. It was maddening. I ordered a new innovate WB sensor, calibrated it and it was doing the exact same thing as the original sensor. Having chased my tail before on having a bad new part, I contacted Amazon and they sent me another brand new WB sensor to replace the already new sensor that I had just received. Recalibrated the second new sensor and it was still doing the same thing. That is where I was at with that problem.I had another ongoing issue that was very intermittent and I would overlook during issues with my wideband. The Innovate MAP sensor would just blink out here and there for just a second or two. When I made it to WB sensor #3 the MAP reading would stay on 29.8hg and blip to 0psi nonstop. SCG-1 is just occupying time and space in my dash at this point and just useless to me in every way.I looked online to see if anyone else has had the same issues and ways to test and diagnose the issues I was having. It was the same thing over and over, that they emailed tech support or they called tech support with no resolve. I also started noticing on a lot of forums that people were selling used SCG-1 units and started thinking that I have made a poor choice. That’s when I decided to call Innovate Motorsports technical support. I was on the phone with a tech support person named “Steve”. He insisted that my WB sensor was bad or that the o2 sensor location was burning up my sensors. Ugh, same problem with 2 new sensors and the original did fine for 8 months so how is that my issue here. Long story short, Steve decided to hang up on me instead of giving me any kind of troubleshooting guidance. I didn’t even get to explain my MAP issue I was happening before he hung up on me. Steve was a kinderchanic trying to tell a manchanic this, this dude needed some big fat crayons. I have contacted tech support several times through email and still have yet to get a response back.I’m not bitter, just disappointed all the way around with the product and support. This is my story and have learned my lesson. You can make your own decision but most of the folks that have put good reviews down on this were folks that really didn’t have the setup very long or perhaps they did get a good functioning unit to begin with. I would absolutely give it a 0 star if I could. Buyer beware.

This gauge is awesome. Wideband controller, boost gauge, and boost control all in one spot. I was very impressed with the cables. Everything has nice connectors and plenty of wiring to reach all areas. Haven't got the shift light to work yet, but everything else is top notch.

Boost controller does great with holding low boost as well as adding 19psi over spring pressure.current settings:4psi springs in each (dual) 39mm wastgate94% duty cycle35%gaini see 23psiPros:-great safeties built in-easy to use-very accurate-can beat the price for a all in one gaugeCons:-the boost does not hit hard and is very linear for boost control. I would love a setting to allow the boost to spike then hold at pressure.-somewhat of a pain to keep doing pulls and adding duty cycle to get to your boost target.

Works great with no issues. I do recommend not using on a distribution block due to inaccurate readings.

Three hour install ( done the right way) Works excellent took some fooling around with spring pressure to get settings right eventually made 15 pounds of boost with a 7 pound spring. The ramping of the solenoid makes for an excellent boost curve, I had the blitz DSBC ID3 on my last car this is comparable although it had a completely different engine and turbo (twins) set up. The failsafes are great, plus you get a boost gauge, wideband O2 sensor and a boost controller, for in my opinion a bargain! ( In the pictures, the solenoid is mounted behind the passenger side strut tower, the map sensor is on the firewall next to the fuel pressure regulator, and the O2 sensor is mounted 20 inches behind the turbo on the downpipe)

While I am terribly happy with my investment, I just wish there was closed loop option so I don't have to keep fighting with the duty cycle and gain controls to get the boost number I want. However, it's an amazing product with many safeties built in to keep my motor safe!
