Worked once and then dulled.

the best part is the cute little case it comes in. I tried to step up through 3/16" mild steel and I burnt up every bit in the box except the big one that I have no use for.

Great set of step bits with a variety of sizes. Some corrosion on the bits, but overall decent quality.Nice case included and very inexpensive at less than $4/ step bit.I would not use a bit like this on iron or other very hard material. Where these bits really shine is on plastic or sheet metal. The bits act more like a reamer and cut super clean holes. This type of bit does have a limited life and dull relatively fast but at this inexpensive price still a great little set.

I've had many of these sets before. They normally came in a small plastic case. I normally ended up putting them somewhere that I couldn't remember when I next needed them. This case with its 5 drills and a center punch, looks like a quality item compared to other things on my workbench. It's big enough do it doesn't get pushed away or hidden under or behind other items. I like that one can have many ways to get the desired sized hole.

This nice assortment of step drill bits. I don't see me needing any other sizes going forward.Time will tell how well they hold up to tough drilling but so far, so good. Including a punch is just the cherry on top.I especially like the case. It's good quality and good size. Might even outlast the drill bits (just kidding).

I am working on cutting and preparing storm shutters for all my windows and doors. Rather than plywood, I opted for the multiwall Polycarbonate panels. A regular drill bit left really jagged holes, which did not work well with bolts. The manufacturer recommended that I use a step bit, which I was not familiar with. So, I did a little research, then ordered this 6-pc set by INTHEEND on Amazon. I can't attest to how well these bits work in other materials, but they work really well on these multiwall polycarbonate panels. They make really smooth holes that easily accommodate the large bolts that I'm using. These step bits make a great addition to my tool cabinet. I highly recommend.

This 6-piece step drill bit set is a fantastic addition to any DIYer or homeowner’s toolbox. The bits come neatly organized in a compact aluminum suitcase, making storage easy and keeping everything well-protected and in place. These titanium-coated, high-speed steel bits offer durability and perform well on materials like sheet metal, aluminum, and PVC. The case itself feels solid and makes it simple to grab the whole set whenever I need it for a project. The range of step sizes this set offers is ideal, covering just about every drill bit size a homeowner might need. I’m particularly impressed by the double-groove design, which seems to reduce the pressure needed to drill while keeping the bit steady. The bits cut through material smoothly and leave clean edges, making them well-suited for more precise work. From small jobs around the house to more extensive projects, these bits have proven reliable and versatile. The only downside I found was with the included "automatic" center punch, which doesn’t seem to work as expected. Despite being marketed as automatic, it doesn’t make a strong indentation without extra pressure, so I found it easier to stick with a traditional center punch. Since I bought this primarily for the drill bits, it’s a minor issue, but it’s worth mentioning if you’re expecting a fully automatic punch. Overall, this set is a solid buy for anyone needing a variety of bit sizes, and the quality makes it a worthwhile investment for DIY tasks.

I only had some very light aluminum sheet (about 1/8 inch) to test with, but they all work well in that, and let me reliably and repeatably drill properly sized holes. The punch works well too. We'll see how well they work in harder, thicker material. I don't expect to be able to drill hardened steel, but mild steel bar up to 3/8 will be my next tests (once I find some). I'm looking forward to projects becoming easier as now I can build according to my design, rather than according to the limited set of bits I have available!
