The quality of both the silicone bread sling and sifter are excellent. The sling is very durable, easy to clean, and convenient to use when placing and lifting out of my dutch oven. The material is very similar to my Silpat mats as well---feels high quality. The duster is incredibly convenient and makes dusting so easy. I used to use a tiny sifter but I love the efficiency of being able to scoop and shake with this new one.

This silicone bread sling is rather on the thin side. It's definitely only for picking things up OUT of the dutch oven after it's already been baked. It's too flimsy to use for getting things INTO the dutch oven.

I ordered this combo for the duster. The sling is great. I have several shapes. They are priceless kitchen assistants. What I needed was the duster.Bundt cakes, pound cakes, and lemon squares are my baking specialties. Their simplicity embellished with a subtle sprinkling of powdered sugar is perfection. However, something in my coordination inevitably produces jerky movements resulting in splotchy coverage. By the time I even out my mistakes, there is almost as much sugar on there as if I had added a layer of frosting. Nothing subtle there.To test the dusting device, I made a double batch of lemon squares. You know, for a really good test. I loaded the duster and started sprinkling. It works more efficiently and sprinkles more smoothly than the canning jar with the pierced lid I jury-rigged. it works more smoothly and with less dense coverage than the fine sieve that I usually use.After eating the first test cut, I discovered the best advantage of all. Since I have started getting deep layers of powdered sugar on the lemon squares, I have been having disastrous pre-bite inhalations of the fine stuff which turns into long jags of hacking, and choking, followed by raspy breathing. This display is usually at church coffee hour. Embarrassing! Since the sprinkles of the duster are more easily controlled, the layers are thinner and not as likely to be inhaled. Problem solved.I recommend both items as useful additions to your kitchen tools. You will be pleased with both.

The sling is extremely handy for making sourdough, the tricky part for me is getting the loaf in and out of the super hot pan, and this sling makes it safer and easier. The bonus sifter great too, it’s small enough to keep handy and works wonderfully. It’s very easy to use, and I actually like it even more for powdered sugar.

This silicone baking "sling" works really well for getting your baked item out of your cast iron Dutch oven.Less chance of burning yourself as you try to wrestle the finished product out of the Dutch oven, or worse, trying to tip a hot, heavy Dutch oven over to free your bread. But our absolute favorite thing about this item is the bonus small sifter. It has a solid side and a perforated side and it slides open to load it with whatever: powdered sugar, flour, whatever you need to sift in small quantities. As you can see, the sifter does an excellent job and is so easy to use. When we needed to flour a baking pan last night, we just grabbed the small sifter and finished in a jiffy. Both the sling and sifter are very easy to clean and store, too. This would make a great gift for the baker in your life!

The silicone bread sling in this set is great in its own right, with its long handles to make lifting the bread out of the dutch oven easier, and its cm/in measurements. But the dusting wand also included is the real superstar here, in my opinion! It’s so handy and amazingly useful…it looks like a loose leaf tea brewer at first glance, but the perforation is only on one side/half of the little globe, the other half is like a spoon so that you can scoop or pour flour, cornmeal (fine, not coarse), cinnamon, powdered sugar, cocoa powder, paprika, etc. into it and dust whatever food or surface you’re using. And you can use it one-handed as it has a spring to push in on the handle to open the ‘spoon’ for loading the powder, and upon releasing the spring, it closes and is ready for use. LOVE it! I’m now convinced that all cooks and bakers need one of these novel dusting wands! It dusts so much better and more evenly than by hand, and it’s compact allowing me to use only the amount of powder I need when a large sifter or powdered sugar sifter (for instance) isn’t necessary.
