The IPR Valve on your 7.3L FORD Powerstroke is responsible for controlling the pressure in the high-pressure oil system which in turn operates the fuel injectors. The IPR (injection pressure regulator) is located on the high pressure oil pump at the front of the engine’s valley. Due to the high pressures they are responsible for controlling, the IPR valve o-rings are a VERY common failure which will in turn result in low oil pressure related symptoms such as; Poor idle Stalling No-start condition While there are other potential causes, such as a failed IPR valve, the o-rings themselves are often at fault, and are much less expensive to replace. The IPR valve screen is another common failure. The screen may become plugged with debris and be collapsed by the flow of high pressure oil as it tries to flow through the restricted screen. A torn screen will allow debris to enter the IPR valve which may damage the valve.

Put it in and the check engine light came on..

I didn't like how I paid for a new part and delivery only to receive a faulty part..

Changed out the IPR as preventative maintenance and the truck ran quite rough. Put the old one back in and ran great.

Junk did not work made my truck run like crap.. by the time we figured out what it was already too late to send it back. Lost money in down time. The only code was popping up was high voltage. Replaced hpop, idm, injectors, icp was done the same time ipr was changed. Still nothing. Finally one of the mechanics replaced the Ipr from the dealer. And bam no codes runs like a kitten. Hopefully this might help you with your truck. Good luck.

Shipping was on time...problem is this valve is hard get at on 96. 7.3 Ford ...the defect of this valve could be the small o ring to thick .010 to tight going in tears going in. O rings larger than o.e.m. sending it back ... To hard to replace for the third time!

this price was very good [1/2 of most] and I was a little apprehensive but the valve worked good. however, it failed a few weeks later but after a quick call, they promptly sent me a replacement, no questions asked and it is working perfect for several months now. I will definitely use them again

The big nut on this item is larger then the original causing me to purchase a 1 3/16 inch wrench. (Odd size)Also the special socket that was listed with this part didn't fit. However when the part was installed, the truck started right up.

It has been on the truck about a week and a few hundred mi. and hasn't quit once.it was a preaty easy fix. 2002 F350 4X4 230000 mi.It has been a good truck since new. I am adding this.I have been running the truckfairly hard and in a 2 mi. funeral prossion and haven't had problems. I hope to get about 15,000 lb load to tow. This will telll. the part was delivered quickly, which was nice. I generally cruise 80-85 mph on the interstate. 70 towing.
