I got this tool for my 93-year-old dad. It works great for rolling, lifting, and holding logs for sectioning with a chain saw. The manufacturer is up front about the limit to log size. The jack has trouble biting logs bigger than 10-12 inches in diameter. It is a rugged tool, essential if you're working without a buddy.

Works fine on smaller logs. Too small for the logs we move around, 30+". Can't grip them.

If you have to cut down trees, this is your new best friend! Sturdy and does the job. The shipping box does expose the product so if you want it for a gift be warned! Our box was pretty beat up but luckily nothing had fallen out. A nice product that does it's job!

The box it comes in was open and missing parts. The stand is very weak and can not handle anything very big.

Too early to comment on durability but, certainly looks plenty strong for my use. The wood handle is perfect, grain direction good for strength, no knots or other stress risers. It works great to lift logs off the ground for safe cutting. Packaging was very poor. Package was ripped open, hardware was simply thrown in loose, half the hardware was missing. If there was any assembly instructions or cautions they were missing.

I have had a few trees come down this summer and have been cutting them up for firewood. The problem of course is getting them off the ground so the chainsaw doesn't hit the dirt. This tool works great within its stated limitations. Trees up to about 12" in diameter are easy to lift so they can be safely cut to stove lengths. If you don't exceed its stated limits it will definitely do the job. An added feature is that the "jack" portion is held on with a single bolt and can be quickly removed so the tool can be used as a standard cant hook for simply rolling and moving logs.

I have bunch of trees down on my property and took on the project to clear them out. Bought a chain saw and the Timberjack. It works great from the tip to the base. I rolled anywhere from 6" tip to the 18 base on a 60' pine and it worked great. Of course I had to cut the tree in sections since the whole thing was too heave to roll. The Timberjack is built solid and handle is great. The handle could be longer to be able roll heavier logs, but then it would need a wider landing area. This is great in tight spaces.Overall I would definitely recommend it if you don't want to cut logs on the ground and save your chain from getting dull hitting the ground.
