It work!Install it the way I did and it will definitely work for you.Installation: Disconnect negative battery. Replace throttle body. Use old gasket and screws as this product doesn't come with them. Don't forget the black gaskets for the screws. Then blow the connector and connect to TB. Install all the engine cover in place. Then connect the negative battery terminal. DON'T START THE CAR. Just turn the key so that the dash lights come on. Then clear the codes using obd2 scanner. Then remove key for 10 seconds. Now start the car. No need to relearn.My situation was that the previous throttle body had permanent damage so was giving me 3 to 6 codes.I had the reduced engine power code come on a multiple times. So it was anyway time to replace the throttle body.If your throttle body is very dirty with thick carbon buildup then just replace it. Cleaning won't help.

Ok most parts like this is ify if you buying it from Amazon... But i took a chance since it was cheap and easy to replace... And so far .. so good.. it fixed my problem with the car cutting off when started../// ok two month update the throttle was working flawless but now it starting to act up. My wife notice the vehicle not picking up speed and shutting off when first started. I guess ill be buying a new one from autogrape😥

I purchased this based off of the reviews weighing on the better side. I was wrong. My reason for buying this was because the engine power was reduced several times on my 2009 Chevy Malibu. Although this fixed the engine power problem, it was causing other problems. Once installed, the car sounded horrible, while idling, while accelerating and while decelerating. A gurgling sound is also happening all the while. When I go to accelerate sometimes it doesn’t even want to pick up as it should and hesitates, which could be dangerous when trying to cross a street with intersecting traffic that has no stop sign or no traffic light..imagine trying to cross the road and get stuck going slowly through and can’t get enough acceleration to cross fast enough! Even decelerating, it jerks as you slow down. I knew this throttle body was the cause of this. To comfirm my beliefs, I talked to one of my clients who is a mechanic, he also confirmed that this was indeed the problem. I’m grateful that this is my get around town car, and I have a Ram 5.7..but that thing guzzles gas. Now I have to got out of my way to return this horrible product and find an original part. Stay clear of this product. Buy OEM, and save yourself the hassle!

I was able to install it in 10 minutes after spending hours looking for my 10mm socket. (just kidding). I was having issues with the old throttle body causing motor surges, and poor idling. This one was much cheaper than any other at the local auto parts store, and worked just as well.I did buy a new gasket for the throttle body, and thought it was initially the wrong size since it didn't fit anywhere. Turns out the gasket slips into a ring slot on the motor itself, and the throttle body tightens against it.

After a year of searching for a mechanic that charged under $1500 to replace this throttle, I was lucky to find the throttle on Amazon for under $100 and have it replaced under $300 at Jacinto’s in Dallas. Jay, my mechanic, said this throttle’s quality is premium grade. He also said, for my 08 Pontiac G5, that it did not need any programming if you disconnect the battery before installing. Since having it replaced, I’ve had no issues with the engine shutting down or anything. From now on, I will definitely look for car parts on Amazon due to this wonderful experience.

Part received was identical in every aspect to the original equipment. Mounted on a 2008 Malibu in under 10 minutes, the vehicle required no setup and ran perfectly. The problem experienced leading to replacement of the throttle body was that the vehicle would stumble when accelerating into a left turn from a full stop and would enter Reduced Engine Power mode. The car generated DTC P1516 and P2101. The throttle body had already been removed and cleaned and a tug-test of the wires leading into the TPS failed to reveal any broken or loose wires. Local parts house wanted over $200 for the same part. Couldn't be happier with this purchase or the quality and timeliness.
