Looks well made but I'm not convinced it is a legitimate Irwin Hanson die. I have a lot of Irwin Hanson taps and dies and every one of them have a company logo, the size and made in USA laser etched on the tool.I emailed Irwin customer service and sent pictures. They said Amazon is an authorized seller and said it is authentic.I'd like to hear from other buyers if the one they received had the size, logo and made in USA on the die like the picture Amazon shows.

Irwin, Tap & Dies Consistent Quality Very good thread cut.Someone egregiously posted. This 1/4 pipe die will not thread.? Only re-thread.?? Aluminum.??UN-true... I threaded. (9) Thin hollow Brass. Filed down flange to .570Hand spun in die to .565Consistently, easily threaded. 1/16 brass.Due to precise set-up. Hand turning in drill press.This Die is designed to thread Cast Iron and similar.

Product is nice but I assumed this to be a cutting die. This is only for rethreading existing threads. Figured this out after I had difficulty threading aluminum with this. Knowing this I wouldn’t recommend unless this is why your buying this

I could only find a few tap and die sets with 1/4NPT die and they are expensive. For the money I couldn’t really lose trying. My local big box hardware store had these at 3x the price! Order it and that weekend was putting the lamp in the living room and enjoying my labor of love. Great quality (Irwin) and easy to use. You can buy a can of cutting oil spray, but 3n1 worked great. BTW, wearing a pair of rubber gloves helps keep the cutting’s from getting in your skin and causing a major irritation problem.

I got this die in 3 days. With the Covid issues at hand that is a good deal. Used it tonight for my job I needed it for. Threading some solid steel bar for pipe clamp fixtures. Worked well without showing wear. They cut nice looking threads. Well done!
