I got this to extend a USA-made Irwin 12" extension I bought over 30 years ago, to be able to bore through a second wall stud 16" in and avoid cutting into the drywall.The set screw threads weren't bored into the bit receiver at a 90 degree angle and did not grip very securely. Worse, the hex end that goes into the drill chuck was not mounted onto the shaft very precisely, so that it wobbled quite badly. Checked it with a dial indicator and there was .035" of runout. The older one only had .002". Ended up hacksawing off the hex part altogether and got the job done without destroying the bearings on my drill. Definitely wouldn't buy another one of these.
