In the year 1700 M. Herbin created The Jewel of Inks in his little shop on the Rue des Fosses Saint-Germain in Paris. The J. Herbin brand is therefore the oldest name in fine pen inks in the world. J. Herbin inks are pH Neutral and are comprised of All Natural dyes in their fountain pen inks. This natural composition and delicate balance of ingredients is the essence of any fine ink.
Each bottle of 30 ml/1 oz ink is elegantly labeled and has a pen rest. They are known as D bottle pen inks. The D refers to the old French unit of measure la Demi Courtine.

なんとなく、哀愁というか切なさを感じる色です。近くにこれを置いている大きなお店がないので、こちらでリピート購入です。ただし、万年筆メーカーの言うとおり、自社製品のインク以外の使用は自己責任で。あと、紙の質で(高ければいいわけではない)裏移りしたり書き味がいまいちだったりするので、この点はインク全般に言えることではありますが、気を付けてください。まとめると、この色が好き、褪色もしない、配送も問題なし、総じて★5です。

Very beautiful colour. Decently wet, and easy both to write with and flush from a pen if you need to.

Herbin es una marca de gran calidad, y una vez más no me ha decepcionado. Dependiendo de la pluma y el papel usado, el color puede variar y este me ha sorprendido para bien. El color es espectacular, incluso parece que sea como azul al principio, para terminar en un lila oscuro (morado pensamiento como su nombre indica) y el resultado sobre el papel (cuaderno Clairefontaine), muy muy bonito. I use many different fountain pens, and this ink is quite satisfactory in my vintage pens as well as newer, everyday pens.

I'm not big into purple, but I do love this shade. When I first purchased it I was using fine-nib fountain pens and the color was too pale for me. Now I have moved to medium and broad nib Twsbi's, and the ink really pops on the page - I love pop! Now I totally love the color and highly recommend. The ink is well behaved. I've not issues in any pens.

I couldn't have dreamed this color would be so outstanding, it's vibrant and flows wonderful. It definitely stains, even if you try to clean super quick, but aside from that it's great.

This purple from J. Herbin is simply fantastic. I've used this ink both with very wet (basically putting down "heaping" lines of wet ink) nibs and ones that are more forgiving. With the wetter nibs on Rhodia paper, this ink produces a beautiful and crisp purple line. When using a drier writing instrument the shadowing and feel is just amazing.I have used many brands of ink in my search for one that's perfect for my preferences... and so far I've found that J. Herbin inks tend to "feel" the nicest/smoothest and have great color.Happy writing!

Wonderfully colored ink. Starts as a light-ish purple, and turns a nice mid-dark shade of lilac as it dries. Dried color is similar to the Lamy Limited Edition Dark Lilac. Ink flows very smoothly in my Lamy Safari fountain pens and Lamy Joy Calligraphy pen. Writing with this just makes the nib feel like it's gliding over teflon. I love it.I also like that this color is similar to the Dark Lilac Lamy inks, so when I run out of that, I'll have something to use it with that matches the pens.

J. Herbin are the best when it comes to value in inks. Perform great, don't dry too quickly (*so you may keep pen uncapped for longer), and it goes down on paper glossy, remaining sheeny after. My favorite bang for you buck line. This shade is great.

I use this with a and Clairefontaine paper... The color is very special, it works great for annotations if you only use the typical black or blue inks, and it flows smootly... I do wish it came in a bigger size.
