This Jadeshay electric planer is good for what it is. Not heavy duty and the plastic parts are not the best quality. But for what it does and price point, it's not a bad tool. Time will tell how well it will hold up. But for occasional wood planer use, it should be good. If you do a lot of woodworking that requires a lot of planer use, I would get something more robust.

I'm somewhat of a hand plane aficionado, and know how to use, adjust, sharpen, and maintain a hand plane. Nearly all individually cost considerably more than the price of the electric planer. So what obtain this--well to quickly coarsely flatten one side of chain saw cut logs to mount on a plane or safely run through a bandsaw. Normally I use a scrub plane for this, and that specialized plane is effective for that purpose, but can be somewhat wearying to use--even for the very fit. So this electric plane was obtained to reduce effort, and that it does. Just not very well and I suspect, for not very long.
