These are a great alternative to pro mark. I was using the cool rods for rehearsals and smaller gigs. These are slightly heavier but seem to have lasted much longer. With both these and the promark i found the end wrapping and rubber ring to be useless. Instead i removed them and wrapped a piece of electrical tape the appropriate distance from the end to get the sound and feel i want and it works great. 5 months on one pair and they are still hanging in there. I'm ordering 2 more.

They’re working as intended. I needed some hot rods and decided to give these a try. No complaints.

The Jazz Drum Sticks Brushes made of Bamboo are a unique and versatile option for drummers looking to add new sounds and textures to their playing. Here's why I find them impressive:Pros:1. **Natural Feel**: The bamboo construction of these drum sticks brushes provides a natural feel and lightweight design, allowing for comfortable and agile drumming. They offer a different tactile experience compared to traditional drumsticks, making them suitable for various playing styles.2. **Versatile Sound**: These drum sticks brushes produce a softer and more subtle sound compared to regular drumsticks, making them ideal for jazz, acoustic, and other low-volume settings. They allow drummers to create nuanced rhythms and textures with ease.3. **Adjustable Brushes**: The retractable brush design allows drummers to adjust the spread of the bristles to achieve different sounds and articulations. Whether you prefer a tight or loose brush sound, these sticks offer flexibility to suit your preferences.4. **Durable Construction**: Bamboo is known for its durability and resilience, making these drum sticks brushes sturdy and long-lasting. They can withstand the rigors of regular drumming without breaking or splintering, ensuring reliable performance over time.5. **Eco-Friendly**: Bamboo is a sustainable and renewable resource, making these drum sticks brushes an eco-friendly choice for environmentally conscious drummers. By opting for bamboo drumsticks, you're reducing your environmental impact while enjoying quality drumming accessories.Cons:1. **Limited Weight**: Some drummers may find that bamboo drum sticks brushes are lighter in weight compared to traditional drumsticks, which can affect the feel and balance during playing. It may take some time to adjust to the lighter weight if you're accustomed to heavier sticks.2. **Not Suitable for Heavy Playing**: While bamboo drum sticks brushes are durable, they may not be suitable for heavy or aggressive playing styles. They're best suited for softer dynamics and genres where subtlety and finesse are valued.Overall, the Jazz Drum Sticks Brushes made of Bamboo offer a unique and eco-friendly alternative to traditional drumsticks. Their versatile sound, adjustable design, and durable construction make them a valuable addition to any drummer's toolkit, particularly for jazz and acoustic performances.

OK I’ll keep the short into the point, the sleeves holding them together slide off too easily. I have used these for maybe four days. Maybe an hour each day? Ridiculous.

I have used a variety of different rods for several years in live situations and some last much longer than others. These rank up there as one of the most durable I have used. I am not a real hard hitter but not light either. I did find that the smaller red wrap closer to the playing end of the stick started to slide forward. This was easily fixed with a wrap of duct tape. I believe it is the bamboo wood that gives it the durability. The birch versions seem to splinter off more easily. Recommended.

My rating is based on my recent experience with them. I bought them for a house party at my cousin's house over the holidays. My kit is loud and so I bought these to take the decibels down. While they DID accomplish that, the black ring and red sleeves started coming off halfway through the night while playing. Additionally, one of the sticks started vibrating really bad while playing, to where it stung my hand on every hit.In the past, I have bought the Promark Hot Rods, which are similar, but MUCH more robust and durable. They are twice the cost of these and so I thought I'd save some money. Well, as if often the case...you get what you pay for.For very light playing, I'm sure these will work for someone. But if you're playing anything above very light music, I would recommend paying the extra and going with the Hot Rods.To be fair, these are listed as jazz drumsticks/brushes and I was playing classic rock tunes, but I still think they should've held up better.

Thrilled with the sticks for the money.Iv had other versions of this type of sticks. Vic firth lightning rods and hot rods. They're good but not worth $30 canadian. These appear to be more than satisfactory for this price.

A simple product that functions 100%. These are for light playing so don't be surprised when they only last for 30 minutes of death metal bro! I've had mine for a month and they're still 100% intact. They are starting to loosen up a tad but they feel good. I really enjoy these things. I'm getting another pair for my second kit. I see no reason to go with a name brand at this point. For this product, being what it is, there's not much room for improvement. Thanks for a quality, low cost option!

I was in need of some rods, somewhat quickly for a show, and found these. They were massively cheaper than the ones I usually buy, and came with two pairs. Like most cheap sticks, I assumed they would break quickly but that was fine for my purposes, especially with an extra pair ready to go.To my surprise, they wound up being excellent sticks. From what I could tell they were identical to the name brand, expensive rods. I played the hell out of them and had zero issues, and no breaks of any kind. They're still going strong and I haven't had to touch the second pair.Bottom line, great rods, great price. Highly recommended.

These are about the same as the Promark Hot Rods for half the price. Neither is going to hold up forever or as long as a standard drum stick, the little bamboo rods will eventually break. But...when your looking for a sound and volume in between brushes and sticks, want to play let's say with acoustic guitar unamplified, these are the ticket. As long as you know they're of a somewhat limited lifespan regardless of who makes them, you might as well get them for half the price because you're going to need to replace them sooner or later if you actually use them much.
