Jiffy steamers are awesome and will last forever if you take care of them. Ordered this one to replace one we’ve had for almost 20yrs. The old one still works, but the check valve broke and the plastic water container has a couple cracks. Bought a replacement check valve but can’t find a replacement water container. So I did not clean the old steamer regularly and we have hard water, so the steam output eventually decreased due to scale buildup. Will take much better care of this new one, using distilled water only. We use our steamer daily, and trust Jiffy steamers, as they are built to last.

The metal steamer is the way to go! I’ve used the plastic ones and they eventually break and they just don’t steam as efficiently. The metal steamer lasts and is worth the money. And it works very well.

Have used this several times and really like it. Very well-made and good construction. Really feels well-built. The 20001 model includes the metal head and was a good price compared to the model with the metal head only. Not sure if I will use the other attachments. Produces a good amount of steam quickly. It was important to me also that this one has an automatic shutoff. I would get impatient with others and would leave to do something else as it was getting the steam ready and would invariably come back and the water would be used up! Has not happened yet with this one, but the peace of mind is good. Be careful because the hose gets hot. Use the wood holder near the head. Other steamers I had would drip hot water out of the head. This one does not. If it gurgles just hold the head high for a second. I use this for my dress shirts and polos and also other more casual shirts. You are supposed to be able to use the metal head as an iron, but I have not tried that yet. I need to find a way to get the collars crisp. Currently I am steaming on a portable rack so there is no firm surface to put behind the steam head. I am thinking of some heat-resistant board or something else stiff. Might also get a steam glove as the steam is very hot and you have to be careful where your other hand is and not aim it towards yourself! Hoping this one will last a long time. I will update the post if it does not! I'm thinking this will ultimately save me money in drycleaning and the time of ironing.

This is a fantastic product in most aspects. It makes my life much easier, and many pieces of clothing today only need a steam rather than a full ironing. It is easy to use and stores easily because it is tall and thin and on wheels. My only complaint is that it does in fact leak sometimes. It doesn't seem to matter how long the machine has been in use, it just spits out water every now and then on the clothing you are steaming......and the water is scalding hot. It does not stain anything because it is only water.....it is more of a problem because the water will burn you. Overall, I definitely recommend this product and I am thrilled to own it.

Built like a tank, should last forever.A carrying handle and cord stowage would have been nice to move the unit from floor to floor.Expected more steam (no previous experience with steamers) but does the job very nicely, even on big creases.Giving a light press on the stretched cloth helps sometimes to remove some creases faster, which may lead me to either buy or build a steam board eventually.Don't expect it to be a big time saver per say compared to an iron, but gets you 95% of the way there without the hassles of ironing. I also expect clothes to last longer.

Works for clothing but didn't work on my blackout curtains. Also leaks a little when you fill the tank and roll it around. Overall, still beats ironing. Wish it was more affordable because the price tag of over $300 is pricey.

After owning and using two previous clothing steamers in the past, I was a little disappointed by the lifespan they had and anxious to try a different model. I had a Steamfast model the first two times and they lasted about a year and a half each one. Customer service was great and they sent me a replacement piece (20 bucks) to fix the problem for a while but eventually it broke down again. Still, I would have no problem buying one again, but i had to try out this Jiffy. This Jiffy is great because it has a metal head! The head does seem to act more like an iron than the previous plastic head pieces that would eventually melt apart over time on the older Steamfast models I have had(lots of duct tape over the years). The head as well as the two other pieces to attach to the tubing led me to give this Jiffy a try.Another great feature that I am very happy about is the water fill tank. In previous models, I had to use a funnel to fill the tank. My dog would often steal the funnel and chew it to pieces and I would always end up having to soak up some spilled water. A real pain in the behind that this model avoids. There is a nice metal clothing rack that is much sturdier than models I used in the past. There is a wrench that sit cleverly magnetized under the unit for head swapping. Very cool features. This unit comes to a full steam so much quicker than any other unit that I have used. One major concern that I have is that where the tube meets the wood on the hose, it seems likely that it will wear out eventually. Maybe this will not ever be a problem, but it does seem to be wearing down already. I would think so sort of spring would be a nice fit to bridge the gap at that point.Another slightly upsetting thing is that the steam hose attachment end for cleaning did not see to work at blasting away dirt or mold around my shower as I had hoped. Maybe I will have to spray the area beforehand next time, but after one trial run...not impressed with it yet.Overall, as you can see, I am very satisfied with my purchase. I think it is the best steamer I have ever owned and laundry seemed to take much quicker to steam that with units in the past. It is faster to heat and faster to clean with. The metal head is a great feature as it heats up as well creating that synergistic "iron" like situation when contacting the clothing. I would definitely buy this unit again. It will be well worth the money.

I recently took a wool sweater vest out of the drawer where it had spent the summer. It was crumpled, creased, unwearable, un-ironable. Ah... but it was no problem at all for my new jiffy steamer. In two minutes or so, it was smooth and perfect. I love steaming tee-shirts -- ironing them is annoying and always sets in some strange lines and fine creases. Heavy cotton trousers, wool clothing, sythetics ... all the odd items that never iron quite right are no obstacle at all for my steamer.I have found it best to put the wand inside the clothing and pull it towards me while steaming. Thinner tee-shirts I can iron from behind and the steam passes through both layers -- cuts my work in half. I have also rested my ironing board against the wall to use as a sort of steamer board but as I'm getting better at using my steamer, I find I don't need to bother with that.I really like my steamer -- it's quick, easy, efficient, heats up fast, melts away wrinkles. Well-made and sturdy too. Impressive for the price. I recommend it.
