We recently had a 40-foot oak chopped down and were using this along with a sledgehammer and an axe. Besides being less dangerous, this with a sledgehammer did a better job with less effort than the axe. We should have bought two!

It’s powder coated and has four holes. I screwed it to a big log and set the logs I want to split on it. I use a 5 lb Hammer and split kindling mostly used to start my fires. Works good, but I did have to give the blade a bit of love in order to get it a wee bit sharper which definitely helped the amount of effort needed to actually split the wood. Other then needing to sharpen the tip everything else seems to be of solid materials, well built and good welds.

Such an easy tool to help split wood. I like that it can get screwed into place and stays sturdier as I cut up wood. It's also really nice that there is no size limit for the wood that can be put on it. I have another version that only allows certain diameter wood chunks to be put into it. This one is better.

This is just what I needed. There is endless pine beetle kill logs here in the Colorado mountains almost anywhere I go camping. This splitter is really well made and looks more than good enough to be up for the task. It comes with screws to set it in a stump or stand, and a protector to put over the blade which actually isn't all that sharp out the box. Overall pleased, this is going to be great. Highly recommend.
