I've been buying tongs with silicon grips because I felt like they would work better. Unfortunately the silicon ends up coming off and the cheap metal ends up bending and I don't like them. This pair has been great and if they weren't so expensive I would want to buy two or three sets because when I'm cooking I like to be able to use it, drop it into the dishwasher, and pick up another set of tongs for the next thing that I'm doing. For instance I'll use these tongs to move raw chicken into some kind of batter that I'm going to dip it in and swish it around but then I don't want to use the same tongs when I go to turn the chicken while it's cooking. I could just wash them but I don't want to. Very easy to wash I just don't want to stop what I'm doing to do that. I think they are absolutely wonderful for tongs. They lock in place beautifully and grab things beautifully I just wish they were cheaper!

Tongs are made out of a very slippery plastic, so they’re really hard to grip. Hard to open and close, a pain to use in general. Ended up getting a different pair of tongs within a month.

There are few brands that I like more than Joseph Joseph. In my eyes they're up there with OXO as a company that consistently puts out high-quality, functional and affordable products (especially when it comes to kitchen tools). And this pair of tongs is easily one of my new favorites from them.Everything about these is just perfect. I love the blue-black color, it looks great in real life and doesn't look out-of-place anywhere in my kitchen. The plastic feels thick and high-quality, and it's really easy to hand wash. The lock works well, which makes it easy to store these (I hang on a wall hook next to other kitchen utensils so I really like how little space it takes up compared to non-locking tongs).And the little built-in stand is fantastic, it's truly one of those little things that I never knew I wanted, and I wish it could be built into other kitchen utensils as well. It's just so convenient to place on a kitchen counter, since the head of the tongs don't make contact with the surface while cooking. It's so simple but it really makes a big difference for me.Overall I can highly recommend these tongs, especially considering the extremely affordable price.
