Reptile and Amphibian Leaf Litters
Hand-collected, chemical free leaves that provide shelter, visual barriers, and hiding places for the vivarium inhabitants. Mimicking the role of dead plant matter in the rainforest, Leaf Litter also puts nutrients back into the environment, providing the stuff plants and microfauna need to thrive!
How to Use Leaf Litter
Prep
Since the leaves are collected from the wild, we recommend rinsing them and baking them in a 140F oven to remove hitchhikers.
Cover all moss and soil with a 1" layer of leaves.

Step 1
Sphagnum Moss works best when used with False Bottom, ABG Mix, Substrate Barrier, and Leaf Litter.

Step 2
Add focal points like wood and hides

Step 3
Tuck plants around the decor with tall plants in the back and shorter plants in the front.

Step 4
Springtails and isopods are small insects that eat waste, dead plant matter, and mold.

Step 5
The vivarium is ready for Dart Frogs, or other pets that like low ventilation and high humidity.

These are long beautiful leaves. I use them and oak leaves for all my poison dart tanks; however, thumbnail frogs and froglets... if you breed, will appreciate the cover they get from these. I always boil the leaves for 15 minutes in RO H2O and allow to cool before adding to tanks. I prefer to add to a bio-active tank already so my springtails and isopods can get any residual stuff that may or may not be there, but I’m invested so I don’t take risks with my frogs. Anyway... get some of these Magnolia leaves they are awesome!

Looked exactly like the picture. In my opinion the price is a little high for what is basically a bag of leaves, but I have no other way of getting them. The leaves themselves were very good and work great in my terrarium.
