For the price this noise gate is AWESOME! its cuts out what it should but allows the sounds to want to come through. Very easy to understand what the knobs are for and with a little playing around you can get it to do just what you want!LOVE THIS PEDAL and would buy it again!

It's fine if you keep the distortion knob turned down. Can get some good 80s hair metal. But, turn it up a bit and it becomes mush. Single notes sound good. Chords do not The notes for the bottom 4 strings get lost, just blend together and can't really hear them. Just too much. Entirely too thick, even for playing hard, hard metal. The 2 flip switches do not really seem to make a difference. Pay attention that it is a "combination of fuzz and distortion". It goes quickly to fuzz. It's too much even for playing Black Sabbath, Megadeath, and similar.It is a very solid, nicely built pedal. Trying to decide if I want to keep it for some of the harder stuff I play, since the price is not that high.Update: I realized that the Fender G-Dec Jr has amp emulation, so, I put it on the cleanest I could find, turned the gain to zero, and now the pedal sound a whole lot better. Still lose some sound when playing chords, but, not close to what I was hearing before. Switches still do not make a lot of difference. I'll keep it for some of the harder stuff, use my OD for others.

I am a guitarist and singer for our church worship team and I have been playing for many years. This compressor pedal is the the thing I have been searching for. It doesn't color or change the sound of your guitar but smooths out your playing and pick attack. Rhythm and lead playing sound smooth as silk with wonderful sustain. I saw a studio guy using a certain settings method on the attack and release of compression and it is awesome. Seriously this is what I've been searching years for. I use the input output knobs to set levels on my half stack amp, very convenient. This is a stay on pedal on my board. I was going to get a 10 band eq but this is the fix for me! Looks great on my pedal board! Very quick shipping.

If you love metal like I do, GET THIS NOW! For the price it's wayyyyy more than worth it! I love a bright sounding guitar tone. But getting a darker tone is hard these days. This has BOTH! The 3 EQ knobs work well. The gain on this thing is crazy good! And dialing it in is super simple. 10/10

1st, the pedal caused the circuit breaker in my pedalboard's power supply to stop the power supply from turning on every time I powered up my board. I had to unplug the 9v power to the pedal, turn on the board, then plug the pedal back in. Defiantly not normal!! Secondly, after correctly connecting the 4 wire set up, the unit somehow just sent my guitar's signal to the effects loop in on my amp, completely bypassing my pedal chain, regardless of whether the powered up noise gate pedal was activated or not. (not that this should ever happen in active mode OR bypass mode!!!) I have other JOYO pedals that I love, but this one stinks!! Save your money and buy a higher end noise gate.

Does everything I need for acoustic guitar. Has no noise and transparent. I have used the UAFX 1176 and Teletroxix LA-2A. They are both high quality compressors, but the Joyo Avallon excels in my setup. Save your money. The Avallon is a great deal!

muy versatil, toco metal con guitarras de 6 y 7 cuerdas, hace que tenga el sonido que estaba buscando usando un 6505 o emuladores similares. Muy parecido al Horizon Precision Drive y por el precio vale totalmente la pena, no es de la mejor calidad en cuestion de materiales pero el sonido lo es.

This arrived separate from its packaging. It looks like the UPS driver had thrown it on my front porch in an envelope and it flew out of its box, but I don’t think that caused the problem. I’m using a 1950s telecaster, so it may just be this is not a good fit for a single coil pick up. This thing is very loud on its own, lots of hiss without a signal to it.Aside from that, the controls work well and seems to produce a wide variety of sound.

Well I'm not one to leave reviews often only when I feel it's warranted and that's how I feel about this JOYO AVALLON compressor. Over the years I've tried so many compression pedals to help smooth out my playing, (I'm NOT the greatest bassist), and I'm certainly NOT one of the richest ones either so my pockets are rather thin. I've gone through so many middle of the road units and have never been happy with them and that was mainly because of the noise compressors inherently provide. Now unless you have $200-$300+ dollars to purchase a highend compressor then that's a different story but since I don't I'm limited.Enter the JOYO AVALLON compressor. I gave it a shot at its price point and I have to say it is VERY IMPRESSIVE and SUPREMELY QUIET. It has actually gone toe to toe with a Cali76 we have at church.It's super easy to use. It's built solid, the control knobs are super sturdy. The ONLY CHEESY PART are the two plastic input/output silver knobs which I easily replaced with aluminum ones. Other than that the pedal is a solid 10/10.***** However PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT IT RUNS ON 120mA's and GREATER and NOT the 100mA's a USUAL POWER SUPPLY OFFERS. *****I'm running mine at 300mA's which my power supply offers and the pedal is a dream.So if you're looking for a great yet INEXPENSIVE, quiet compressor pedal look no further.The JOYO is top notch and a great bang for your money! I highly recommend it.(BTW, The JOYO SCYLLA Compressor is also great too the only difference being is that it is smaller in size, has a tone knob but offers no LED strip to show you the gain response, something I needed).

The best compressor I've ever had, including all three of the Boss CS series and a Digitech Main Squeeze. Tweak to find your desired sweet spot. It's silent in operation.The only downside is the on/off status light is very bright. Just stick a bit of paper over it to reduce the glare. I've also disabled the over the top edge lighting using the switch on the base.In conclusion, I leave it on all the time it's so good. Unbeatable at this price.
