These fasteners saved me from buying new hood lift struts. Easy install and they came with brass inserts.

Not sure why others are saying the threads are plastic. They are not. They are brass. Very sturdy.

Glad this was a 2 pack. I bought these to replace a broken one on my jeep tailgate damper. I put it on, and when I tested it by opening the tailgate and expecting this to hold, it pulled apart. The copper threading pulled out of the plastic cap on it's first try. The second one is holding up after opening the door twice, but I doubt it will last.

If you are looking for a "steel" gas spring end fitting as described (or one with a brass threaded insert as depicted), this is NOT the product for you. These are standard fare plastic parts that, in my experience, fail within a year or two. In the RV door closer application, the plastic threads pull out due to the loads experienced in holding the door. Replacing the failed parts for now; I'll see how long these last.

These were not the ends I needed. All I needed were the metal spring retaining clips. But I bought them anyway because I needed the retainer. So yeah Iām happy.

The part that came oem on my rv had plastic threads and they quickly stripped out. I ordered these as a replacement and I couldn't be happier. Installed very easy and the metal threads seem much more quality.
