I ordered this Jump Starter adapter for my Milwaukee M18 batteries. This adapter converts power tool batteries to jump start 12V car batteries. It works on vehicles with engines under 3.5L including cars and motorcycles.I tested it on my old 1989 Chevy that wouldn't start after sitting in the garage for a few weeks. I connected the adapter to my M18 battery, attached the clamps to the battery terminals or a regular lead-acid battery, and waited for the indicator light. After about 15 seconds, I turned the key and the old Chevy fired right up. I checked the voltage output with my multimeter and it showed around 20 volts, which gave the car's battery the boost it needed. The adapter includes 11AWG jumper cables and comes without a battery. It doesn't work on completely dead car batteries - it only boosts existing battery power. Using it is straightforward, and after the car starts, the cables need to be disconnected within 30 seconds. The adapter is compact and lets me use my existing Milwaukee batteries for jumping the battery. I don't think this is as dependable as a jump starter with an internal battery from some of the leading brands, but I do think it will help out if you are at the house and can grab a fresh battery.

Jump for Starter Only for 12V Car with 11AWG Jumper Cables, Convert Power Tool Battery to Start 12V Car (Only Adapter with Booster Cables, No Battery) (Fit for DeWalt 20V 60V Battery) (Fit for DeWalt 20V 60V Battery)Jump for Starter Only for 12V Car with 11AWG Jumper Cables, Convert Power Tool Battery to Start 12V Car (Only Adapter with Booster Cables, No Battery) (Fit for DeWalt 20V 60V Battery) (Fit for DeWalt 20V 60V Battery)We have actually been waiting for some time for this technology to evolve into off the shelf devices like this. In the past we have been experimenting with 20 volt cordless tool batteries for off grid solar, power packs, camp lighting and jump starting cars. We have tried the power wheels connectors, along with buck down converters with some pretty good success. This device accomplishes the same thing but it is all together in one easy piece. The one issue we have always had with this approach is that they don’t always just start the car. You may have to connect the jumper to your battery and then wait a bit for it to charge your low car battery. Using a higher AH battery helps a lot. This is definitely better than having nothing to jump a car, so I am thrilled to add this to my emergency bag in my truck. This is a simple plug and play device with nothing to do but hook it up and start your car. We also recommend another Amazon product that charges Dewalt batteries from your cigarette lighter plug so that you can always have a full battery for whatever reason. I am very impressed with this product and highly recommend it, whether for jump starting, or other off grid uses.

Worked once then never again. I was on a road trip and my battery died so I took this thing out of the trunk and it boosted the car perfectly. Then when I turned the engine off again I needed a boost again, took this thing out and it did not work. Fortunately I still had cables and flagged a stranger down to get a boost. I tested my Milwaukee battery and it is good and took this thing apart to see if it has a fuse. It has a soldered fuse in it but was not blown. I did connect it properly and it just died. Not a good quality product and would not recommend.

When you hook up a 6 AH battery to this adapter, you realize how heavy it all is, compared to the little "1 AH" units frequently advertised for starting cars with depleted batteries. Many of the small units advertised as 3 AH units are similarly pocket-sized and very light, which makes their power claims dubious.I tried this unit out on a 22 HP garden tractor that had been sitting all winter; it cranked for about 20 seconds and didn't start (that's not the fault of the charger - the tractor just didn't want to run right away). After a minute or so, the lights indicated I could start, and after some more cranking, the tractor powered right up. The unit I have uses a Hitachi battery, but I used a DeWalt 6 AH battery with a DeWalt to Hitachi adapter; it all worked perfectly. And the entire process starting my tractor took probably one full minutes of cranking; this adapter and my 6 AH battery had the power to do the job without recharging in the middle. There are so many reviews of the small hand-held units that are sold, saying they don't work; it's refreshing to have one you can depend on. And since most people with power tools have plenty of batteries that are 5, 6, or even 8 times more powerful than the little hand-held units, you are really bringing major power to the job.I don't think this unit or any small unit will start a 5 Liter V8 with a completely dead battery. But if your battery is just low because the vehicle sat for a time and won't start, I believe this is the answer. And since many of us have multiple batteries, once used you can just put the battery in the charger, snap another battery in and go on your way.I don't understand why the process works as it does, but it works. You connect this adapter to the battery in the vehicle, then wait until the green light flashes. This takes 15 seconds or so; I assume during that time the electronics in this device are putting power into the vehicle battery, then when ready you turn the starter. In the end, nothing beats a 110v charger that you plug in and wait for an hour or two, but for use when you need a quick start because you left your lights on, or the vehicle has been sitting for a few weeks and the battery is run down, it is perfect.
