I took a Dewalt 20v battery straight off the charger and hooked this up to my Dodge Caravan battery that is weak (and probably needs to be replaced). The green light started blinking and the going between solid to blinking after some 10 minutes. The label says 3-5 minutes should be good and the battery had enough power to unlock with key fob without the booster. I then tried to start engine and it wouldn’t start. It would attempt to crank a little but not enough to get it going. Maybe if you’re desperate and can leave it on 20-30 minutes it might work, but didn’t work with a mildly under charged battery.

I finally got around to needing this item yesterday. I had forgotten to start our second car for a few weeks and with this cold snap, when I did try it, the battery was dead. Figured it was a good time to try this little tool. It was cold, in the mid 20s, so I really wasn't expecting it to work. Started the car right up on the second try. This thing is really handy and I am so glad I invested in it.

This is my review of the Jump Starter Adapter for DeWalt 20V MAX Battery.I have a plug-in hybrid vehicle which has a very small 12-volt battery to power the accessories. If this battery gets discharged or goes bad the car won't start. So, I got this just in case.In picture 1 you can see that the test battery is slightly discharged. Connecting the adapter the battery began charging from the Dewalt battery, picture 2. When I put a small load on the battery to simulate starting the current increased to compensate for the current being drawn, picture 3.Nice piece of mind for road trips and I can use my existing batteries, nice.

I don't know if this jump starter for 18v Makita Lithium Ion batteries by seller Fybemax works or not. When I test it the light turns green indicating it is charged. When I put a volt meter on the leads it measures only 0.107 volts not the 20.3 volts of a fully charged Makita style 5-cell battery.I am guessing it has capacitors or a super capacitor storage device and electronics for switching it on when the resistance between the output wires goes low.Nothing in Fybemax product description says anything like this and if you ask Amazon's Rufus, it replies "This product does not contain a capacitor. It is an adapter that allows using a Makita 18V battery to jump start a 12V vehicle battery."If that were true either the unit is bad, or I would see 20.3 volts at the outputs.Typically one should not test a jump starter for Lithium Ion batteries unless the vehicle's battery is lower than 12 volts so that the Li Ion's high voltage will not damage the vehicle's electronics. When the car battery is low then it will drop the voltage of a Lithium Ion battery to something like 14-15V so it is safe to use.My car battery is not low so I should not test it that way – assuming the unit does not have a capacitor and other protective circuits.Again, I do not know if this works or not.All of these questions could be answered if the Fybemax would1. properly describe what this product is,2. how it works, and3. what are the operational parameters for using it.
