I played Mr Tambourine Man with the uke in standard baritone pitch. An hour later I heard a big POP and the string bridge was on the floor and the rest of the bridge saddle area were popped off. I wouldn’t but it as your primary ukulele. It’s a nice playing and sounding ukulele. I have several Kala ukuleles made in various locations. Kala has a good reputation but this is faulty glue. It’s never been tuned higher or non-standard. I assume this will be an expensive fix. I know it seems simple but I want it repaired right. I’m looking for another brand 8 string baritone. So far no others on Amazon. I’ll check used sites. It’s about two years out and out of warranty. I have over 30 ukuleles in all sizes and brands so this wasn’t used much. I’m a retired professional guitarist so I’m aware this happen often with acoustic instruments but IMO this should have been glued so well the top of the uku should pop off before the bridge! So buy it but expect it to fail in a couple years unless you play it a lot. Then who knows how long it lasts before needing repair or replacement.

The eight string baritone ukulele produces beautiful tones and is easy to play. However, on my instrument the bridge disconnected from the body of the guitar.I found a local professional to rebuild and strengthen the bridge, it is still being repaired.

I ordered two of these. the first one I returned due to damage during shipping. There was no extra padding in the flimsy box. The box was damaged and so was the ukulele inside. I was tracking the package and for some reason it appeared to go back and forth between California and Texas a couple of times. I returned this ukulele and ordered a second one.I struggled to tune the second ukulele, so I took it to a local music store to have it professionally tuned and was told there was a factory defect. The rod running up the neck was bent so the neck was bowed, and this ukulele would never turn properly. I'm not going for a third try. I sent this ukulele back and ordered another one from a music store.

I'd love to rate this 5 stars but I was less than happy with how it was shipped. Honestly I'm surprised it didn't sustain more damage than it did from inferior packing. Fortunately the only damage is only cosmetic and isolated to the top. Because it doesn't impact functionality, I won't bother returning it. I like it, I'm just disappointed by the damage that was entirely avoidable with proper packing. It sounds great and has a long sustain. Gorgeous other than the damage at the top.

After I received the Kala 8-string baritone uke #1, badly damaged and then returned, I ordered the only other two Amazon had available, just in case. Received both today. After opening #2, found a few minor scratches on the top, but I tuned it, and everything seems fine otherwise. Opened #3, no visible damage at first, and thought I found the best one. During tuning, I noticed the neck was curved quite a bit; got my hex wrench (not included by Kala) to adjust it. I then saw that the rod end was broken out of the neck end and it was difficult to fit the hex wrench (the proper size, by the way) into the rod. I didn't try to adjust the neck on the chance the rod was bent or the wood would break out more. It's quite possible this one was returned and resold, just like #1, without checking the condition, since the original box had been opened, torn, and retaped with Amazon tape. Will definitely return this one, also. It's too bad because it was otherwise a more attractive instrument and the wood grain of the cedar top was tighter and more consistent than #2.I'll keep #2 for sure, but will buy the extended service contract just in case. I've played a Kala Zirikote baritone uke for over a year and love it. Kala makes a quality instrument for a very fair price. It's very disappointing that the packaging and handling along the way is so tragically inadequate.
